Samoëns, Morillon and Sixt Fer-a-Cheval are well known for their numerous summer activities, perfect for those looking for an action-packed holiday full of adventure. There are a huge number of organised events in and around our villages, from live music concerts, festivals and arts, to top level sporting events and even motorsport! 16-17 May - Festival du Chapeau - 17th edition - Samoëns
A 2-day theatre festival with 4 performances in a variety of styles.
6 June - Grand Massif Express telecabine opening - Samoëns
6-8 June - Vélo Vert Festival - Samoëns
A hugely popular mountain bike festival consisting of races, exhibitions, demonstrations, guided rides, entertainment and live music.
13-15 June - Samoens Trail Tour - Haut-Giffre Valley
Seven races, from a 1.5km kids race to a 129km ultra tour covering over 9000m vertical gain! Whether competing or spectating, a top atmosphere is guaranteed!
14 June - Samoens outdoor swimming pool opening - Samoëns
Open daily until 14 September.
26-29 June - Samoens American Festival - Samoëns
A fantastic weekend of American favourites - line dancing, Harley-Davidsons, hamburgers and much more!
5 July - Grand Massif full opening of lifts - Samoens, Morillon, Sixt, Les Carroz, Flaine
1 July - Morillon lake (Lac Bleu) swimming area opens - Morillon
Open daily until 31 August.
6 July - Samoens lake (Lac aux Dames) swimming area opens - Samoëns
Open daily until 1 September.
11-26 July - "Un piano sous les étoiles" Bostan piano festival - Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval
Enjoy a series of acoustic concerts in the wild setting of the Refuge Bostan, high above Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval.
14 July - Fête Nationale - Samoëns & Morillon
An evening of Bastille day celebrations, including fireworks and live music.
15-31 July - Festival Lyrique de Samoëns - Samoëns, Morillon, Sixt.
Two weeks of live music, workshops and much more taking place throughout the valley.
20 July - Adopte 1 COL ! - Samoëns
For just one day, the Col de Joux Plane road is closed to vehicles and reserved for cyclists only. Come and take on this challenging climb made famous by the Tour de France.
3 August - Tour de France Feminine - Samoëns
The final 124km stage of the tour passes through Samoëns and over the Col de Joux Plane on its way to Chatel.
10 August - La Fête des Guides - Samoëns
A day celebrating the wonderful work of the local mountain guides.
15 August - August 15th Celebrations - Samoëns
Fireworks, live music and a light parade at the Lac aux Dames, Samoëns.
17 August - The Vertical Kilometre of the Criou - Samoëns
Watch the best KMV specialists in the world take on the challenge of one of the steepest races in France.
4-6 September - Rally du Mont-Blanc - Samoëns/Morillon
A great weekend of high level motorsport action in the mountains surrounding Samoëns which is a round of the French National Rally Championship.
4 October - Fête du Pitin - Morillon
Morillon celebrates apple juice! Various activities, food & drink, music, and the production/sale of apple juice.
18-19 October - Foire d'automne - Mieussy
A huge autumn fair which takes over the entire village! Music, street entertainment, local food, cider making demonstrations (and drinking!), and a flea market.

Verchaix Market - Fridays, 7am - 1pm
