Chalet Le Kiwi Vert Double Four Poster Bed with Ensuite

Chalet Le Kiwi Vert is an ecologically renovated, 180m2, 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom chalet, sleeping 9 in the height of comfort.  It is superbly equipped with families and groups in mind, complete with hot tub, sauna, log burner and games room.  Located in the heart of Samoens village, opposite the impressive new ice rink and just 100-200 metres from the tourist office, crèche, ski bus stop, and many excellent restaurants and a vast array of shops. The Grand Massif Express ski lift is approximately 7 minutes walk from the chalet and if you chose to use one of our partner rental shops, ski equipment storage is available at the top or bottom of the ski lift. During the height of the winter season Chalet Le Kiwi Vert is adjacent to the ski de fond circuit, with a stunning track to the local lakes, which can also be enjoyed by walkers.

For non ski activities and during other seasons, the chalet is 5 minutes walk from the beautiful lakes, swimming pools, tennis courts, horse riding, and activity/adventure park.  Plus this position provides direct access onto biking and hiking trails, or easy walking routes around the medieval village.  It truly offers the perfect base for year round holidays.  The chalet is set in large grounds, with flat gardens and sunny terraces ready to be enjoyed.

Offering comfort throughout, yet renovated with the environment in mind, the owners have cleverly used geo thermal heating, water recycling system, solar panels and recycled quality materials. Chalet Le Kiwi Vert was also recommended in the ECO-CHIC section of The Good Ski Guide 2012!

This property is privately owned and has been carefully selected to feature in Alps Accommodation’s premier portfolio. It has a Sunday changeover, however in low season and for last minute bookings, flexible arrival day and length of stay may be available. Discounts are also available for small groups of 6 or less in the summer. Contact us for more information.

Chalet Le Kiwi Vert has been lovingly renovated by its owners with great care and attention, cleverly incorporating traditional alpine charm, with modern touches, creating a real home from home.  The chalet gained its name from the wonderful green kiwi vine which creeps up the chalet front, giving the chalet further unique appeal.

The chalet is well arranged on three floors, over an impressive 180m2 of stylish living.  The light and spacious living area is located on the entrance level and boasts 3 comfy sofas and an impressive log burner, providing the perfect place to relax after a day of activities. It comes equipped with flat screen satellite TV, Wi-Fi (fibre), DVDs and games.  French doors lead out to the south facing balcony, providing a bright and sunny room.

Leading off the lounge is the open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is superbly equipped throughout with dishwasher, fridge freezer, full size oven and hob, microwave and extras such as a DeLongi coffee machine and raclette machine for cheese lovers. The stunning red worktop is surprisingly made from recycled glass and really adds a fresh and modern alpine look to the kitchen.  Next to the kitchen area, you find dining area, complete with an antique table and seating for 12 with an additional leaf. Access again through double doors, onto the south facing balcony, which is also equipped for outside dining, or simply relaxing with a drink and watching the cross country skiers or ice skaters across the way.

The chalets entrance level, with a clever mix of slate tiles and old reclaimed wood, provides home to the ski and boot room, with boot warmers to help create comfy boots for the start of the day. Plenty of storage and a cloak room with sink and wc are also located near the entrance.

Take the beautiful hand crafted stairs to the lower floor of the chalet, to reach the sauna and the games room. This room is treat for all ages to enjoy. Equipped with table football, further TV, Wii, and 2 comfy sofas, one of which is a sofa bed to allow for flexible sleeping arrangements. The games room also provides further access to the gardens and hot tub. There is a utility room with second fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer also found on this level, as well as a further wc and shower, offering great convenience to its guests.

How did the owner achieve this Eco Chalet?

Heating is provided by a ground source heat pump which extracts heat from the ground and using a compressor delivers warm water to the under floor heating coils. In Chalet Le Kiwi Vert it is even used for the boot warmers. The ground source heating is complemented by solar panels on the south facing roof. It was essential to reduce the energy requirement through the use of excellent insulation. Chalet Kiwi was no exception, using Fermecell boarding for all walls and ceilings, a homogeneous material made from 80% recycled gypsum and 20% cellulose fibres derived from recycled papers, mixed with recycled water, with no additives or preservatives. Air extracted from the chalet is passed through a heat exchanger to recover up to 90% of the heat in the winter. In summer it stops the introduction of hot air into the chalet providing instant air conditioning! A grey water recycling system was installed for sterilising bath water before being reused so significantly reducing water consumption. Where possible the wood used has been either reclaimed or from renewable sources, even the hot tub is made from cedar wood rather than plastic. And a highly efficient Italian wood burner ensures the heat produced doesn’t escape to the atmosphere. And not forgetting the induction hob, low energy lighting, recycled glass kitchen worktop, etc. which all help to make this a truly Eco chalet.

Chalet Kiwi Hot Tub

Chalet Le Kiwi Vert could not be more ideally located. Just minutes from the centre of Samoëns, the chalet’s central location to all that our resort has to offer make it the perfect, year-round holiday destination.

The bustling centre of Samoëns with its many shops, restaurants and bars, beautiful botanical gardens, and picturesque medieval square is only 200m away from the chalet. The tourist office is located a mere 100m stroll away and the busy Wednesday morning market, one of the biggest in the region, is located just 50m from the front door. Likewise, there is a crèche little more than 50m away.

In the winter, a 7-minute flat walk takes you to the main Grand Massif Express lift, from where you can access our impressive ski domain. Alternatively, catch one of the free and regular ski buses from the stop 100m away. Directly opposite the chalet is the fantastic, newly built ice skating rink. So if ice-skating is your thing, or you want to watch the kids skate, or perhaps catch the occasional ice hockey match, then Chalet Kiwi Vert is definitely for you. There is also some great cross country skiing terrain and snow-shoeing trails (open according to snow conditions) not far from the chalet.

In the warmer months, a short 5-minute walk takes you to the beautiful Bois Aux Dames lakes and leisure facilities. Make the most of the weather and enjoy the swimming pools, tennis courts, adventure park, golf driving range, horse riding and more. The Grand Massif Express lift is also open throughout July and August, allowing guests access to the many alpine walking trails and downhill mountain biking terrain, not to mention the spectacular summer scenery up top.

A large supermarket is situated just a short 2-minute drive from Chalet Le Kiwi Vert. Alternatively, you can walk to it in about 10 to 15-minutes.

Chalet Le Kiwi Vert’s convenient location means no car is actually required when staying at this property. This adds to the overall ‘Eco-friendly’ design of the chalet.

We had a wonderful time at the Kiwi Chalet! It is a beautiful chalet less than a 5-minute walk to the centre of Samoens village and a 3-minute drive to the telecabine linking into the Grand Massif ski area. Andy (property manager) was an amazing host, incredibly responsive and helpful in so many ways. We would love to stay here again in the future and recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful chalet in Samoens.

Theresa, Chalet Le Kiwi Vert, December 2021

What better way to celebrate the New Year than in this idyllic setting! Between tradition and modernity, this chalet combines all the qualities to spend an exceptional stay with friends. Despite the closure of the ski lifts, we were able to entertain ourselves thanks to snowshowing and raclette. Thank you!

Hilzendeger, Chalet le Kiwi Vert, January 2021

This is a is well located chalet, in a quiet environment in summer and close to the village center. Very good welcome by the manager of the chalet.

Gaulier, Chalet le Kiwi Vert, June 2021

This is a beautiful chalet with a hot tub. The service was great - the chalet manager sorted an extra set of towels for us on Christmas Eve and quickly reacted when we temporarily had no hot water. Prime service, we would definitely book again.

Gavoille, Chalet le Kiwi Vert, Christmas 2020

The chalet was wonderful thank you and we had an excellent week in Samoens, which has been a great new find for us. Things I personally particularly appreciated were the warmth of the property and the abundance of hot water, the very large and easy-access ski room, the strong wi-fi and the big screen in the den area and the very well-equipped kitchen - all the pans, utensils and crockery we could ask for. The kids made full use of the hot tub and loved it!

Parrett Family, Chalet le Kiwi Vert, February 2019

What a wonderful week we've had, super skiing, great weather. The chalet was perfect for us. Lots of fun in the games room, sauna and hot tub. Can't wait to come back.

Kerr, Robertson and Storr families, Chalet Le Kiwi Vert, Feb/March 2018

Excellent chalet - it was the perfect position, with access to all facilities in the village; ski bus etc. A real home from home with everything you needed to enjoy the holiday. The owners were very responsive, and just wanted to give clients a memorable holiday. Hayley from Alps accommodation couldn’t have done more to support us with lift passes etc delivered to door. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful experience.

Evans party, Chalet le Kiwi Vert, January 2018

Our group really enjoyed the stay at Chalet Kiwi. I've missed not waking up to the view of the Criou and the ice rink. The chalet was perfect and so toasty and warm and the hot tub and sauna were a big hit. Along with the great conditions made for a fantastic new year trip.

Kendrick, Chalet le Kiwi Vert, December 2017

A wonderful chalet, ideal for a large group. We really appreciated the cake, and also the sauna and hot tub have been very popular. It has been ideal for our mixed ability group, and there's plenty to do in town. A great venue. Thank you.

We had a wonderful holiday here. The boys loved the hot tub! We really appreciated the well-appointed kitchen and lovely toiletries. Great location for adventures, thanks! Fabulous Kiwi jam - I had about half a jar on toast! Nice touch, and the scrummy cake. Will defo recommend to friends for winter and summer.

We had 2 great weeks here. We appreciated this chalet for all it qualities - space, games, hot tub, calm...we thank Martin and Jane (the owners) and Gaelle and Graham (the property managers) for their kindness and their helpful information! We discovered Samoens was perfect for all of us - parapenting, biking, walking, climbing...We didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted! We hink of the next time we will come! Thank you for these nice days.

A most enjoyable experience in Samoens, topped by a thick blanket of snow on our departure. The chalet was great giving us space and all the facilities needed for six adults and two children. Would highly recommend.

Hunter family, Chalet le Kiwi Vert, February 2016

We have enjoyed a fabulous Christmas week at Chalet Kiwi Vert. The chalet and all facilities have been a huge fit with our two families,  and introducing our children to skiing has been a fabulous experience. Thank you for all the thoughtful extras which made our trip so straightforward and enjoyable. We hope to return soon.

Mitchell and Matthews families, Chalet le Kiwi Vert, Christmas 2015

A gem of a find - having bypassed Samoens for years heading to Avoriaz and Morzine we were delighted to discover a stunning valley, with a wealth of activities on offer. Thankfully we coincided with one of the better weeks of the summer which allowed us to experience parapenting and hydrospeed, plus the most beautiful walks to some of the many refuges dotted in the mountains. Lots going on in resort too to keep our teenage sons happy. Returning to our hot tub and sauna was the perfect end to each day.

Chamberlain, Chalet Kiwi, September 2014

We have loved every day of skiing. Coming back to the chalet was a treat, especially the hot tob, the comfy beds, the sauna, the underfloor heating and the beautiful curtains, oh, and not forgetting the boot warmers - so well thought out and ideal for our 2 families.

Symingtons, March 13

A quick note to thank you for the excellent stay at Le Kiwi Vert. It was a truly memorable week in a beautiful house. The quality of furnishings and finishing touches to Le Kiwi Vert were truly outstanding and the location we couldn't really fault it either so all in all an excellent addition. Also I'd just like to say thanks for being accommodating yesterday with the games room for an extra hour. It all worked out just fine in the end.

"We have holidayed with you for the last three years and this property surpassed our expectations. Outstanding, and on the verge of being perfect. We honestly couldn't have wished for a better holiday, from comfortable beds, quality furnishings and a really handy 800m walk to the lifts. Brilliant!!!!! p.s. Your staff were excellent as ever and answered and dealt with any issues expertly. WE LOVE SAMOENS!
