La Ferme - Samoens

Enter La Ferme through its ground floor entrance from the garden, and be immediately taken away by the purely Savoyard feel of this luxurious farmhouse apartment. Spread across 100m2, this beautifully renovated apartment consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a bright and large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area.  All of which have been finished to the highest quality and detail, by local artisans.

A wide entrance corridor, with plenty of hanging space for coats, leads past the first ensuite bedroom and utility room up to the main living space. Here, the central feature is the beautiful stone and wooden surround fireplace. Sit back and relax in one of three cosy armchairs or the giant two-seater sofa. Enjoy satellite TV viewing, watch a DVD, choose from a great selection of books, games and playing cards, or take advantage of the free Wi-Fi Internet access.

At the other end of this luxurious space is the superbly equipped kitchen and open-plan dining area. The clean, white wall with its exposed stone, and three large kitchen windows looking out onto the fields and mountain behind the farmhouse, make for a bright and luminous space to enjoy your meals together. There is a large, wooden dining table with ample seating for 7 plus an additional breakfast bar with seating for two. The kitchen itself is a chef’s delight, with masses of preparation space, including a long, stone-topped workbench and ‘island’ with built in drawers that are filled with all the cooking and serving utensils you could possibly need. There is even a fondue and raclette set so you can try your hand at some classic Savoyard cuisine. There is an American style fridge-freezer, full-size electric fan oven and four-burner induction hob, as well as a combination oven/microwave and dishwasher. Two steps lead down from the kitchen/ dining space to the second and third bedrooms, the perfect place to retire after a long, enjoyable day on the mountain. The second bathroom is also located in this area.

La Ferme has private, off-road parking, a large and secure ski locker with heated boot rack and also benefits from a lovely outdoor space. There is a large picnic table beside an authentic stone basin with fresh water running direct from the source, where you can enjoy the summer evenings looking out over the stunning Giffre valley below.

La Ferme boasts 3 spacious bedrooms, all of which have been furnished with only the highest quality items and with a design detail that really adds to the charm and authentic feel of this purely, alpine retreat. Bedroom 1 is a king bedroom (bed 160cm x 200cm) and is located just off the main entrance. There is plenty of room to unpack with under bed storage space, a large wardrobe and small dresser. There is also a TV for DVD viewing. The room has its own private bathroom with WC, and bath with overhead shower. This spacious ensuite is beautifully decorated with porcelain basin and wooden vanity unit, as well as heated towel rail. Gorgeous tiles, a large bay window and high ceiling really add to the feeling of space and luxury.

Bedrooms 2 and 3 are located on the far side of the apartment, behind and separate from the main living and dining space. Bedroom 2 is a second, luxurious king size room fitted with large wardrobe and wooden bench seat. Its polished floors, solid wood furnishings and the smallest decorative details ensure maximum quality and comfort. Bedroom 3, a triple with a single bed and full-size bunk bed, is located just next door. This room is another perfect example of ‘cosy-savoyard’, the alpine charm reflected once again in quality furnishings and small touches like the log reindeer in the bay window, and winter forest themed bedding. These two bedrooms share the stylish second bathroom located in the corridor.

La Ferme has off-road parking, a large and secure ski locker with heated boot rack.  The apartment also benefits from a lovely  garden space to the front of the property allocated especially for the apartment guests and enjoying the sun from late morning to evening. There is a table set beside an authentic stone basin with fresh water running direct from the source, where you can enjoy the evenings months looking out over the spectacular views of the Giffre valley below, and across to Samoens mountain peaks.
