Chalet Tir na Nog Samoens Ensuite double bedroom

This stunning chalet style apartment has been recently renovated to provide “alpine chic” accommodation for 7/9 people in 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms plus mezzanine.  The young Swedish and Irish owners have taken great care and attention to ensure this apartment offers the perfect space for families or groups of friends to unwind after a day on the mountain.  Tir na nOg is Irish for the “land of the forever young” aptly named to reflect Samoens ability to keep you feeling young!

Superbly located in the village centre, just 500 metres, or a 3-4 minute walk from the telecabine and 250m from Samoens historic square with shops, restaurants and cafes and bars.  There is also the convenience of the free and regular ski bus stop just 100m away.  If you chose to use one of our partner rental shops, ski equipment storage is available at the top or bottom of the ski lift.

The apartment occupies the first and loft levels of the chalet, providing accommodation of approximately 60m2 + a further 15m2 of restricted head space in the eaves.  You feel immediately the love and detail that has been cleverly incorporated, with a mix of wood textures and colours, a fusion of antique and modern furnishings and fittings, and hand painted stencilled walls.

The Swedish influence is found throughout, in particular on the exterior wood, where the paint used is made from copper mine dust found in northern Sweden.  These touches has been cleverly mixed with alpine chic décor, to provide a stylish, comfortable accommodation for you to enjoy.

The owners of the property are on hand to provide assistance during your stay.  You can also book massages for an additional cost.

This property is privately owned and has been carefully selected to be in Alps Accommodation’s premier portfolio. It has a Saturday changeover day, Sunday at the start of winter 20/21, however in low season and for last minute bookings, flexible arrival day and length of stay may be available. Contact us for more information.

A Raclette set and Pierre Chaud set (hot stone) are also available on request.  The dining area, with a beautiful wooden extendable table can seat 7/9 people under the exposed beams, adjacent to the double height mezzanine area.  A TV with French and UK channels is provided in the dining area. The Grand Massif Express lift also operates throughout July and August, providing guests with even more access to hiking trails, challenging downhill mountain biking terrain, and of course spectacular summer, alpine scenery.  If you prefer to stay on the valley floor the beautiful Bois Aux Dames lakes and leisure facility, which features swimming pools, tennis courts, archery, golf driving range, horse riding and more, is located within an easy 10-minute walk of the chalet.

Reviews

We have stayed in Samoens a number of times and have used Alps Accommodation a few times.  The properties are always very well equipped, comfortable and clean.  This was definitely the case with Tir na nOg.  We had a great week there, the owners were very helpful, especially letting us check in early.  The property was in a great location and had everything we needed.

Whinray, Chalet Tir na nOg, February 2019

We had a wonderful stay. Chalet Tir na nOg is such a cosy chalet - just as we expected from the pictures. The owners Asa and Shane were just sweet and very helpful.

Jorsal family, Chalet Tir na Nog, April 2017

Lovely cosy chalet with comfortable beds, right beside the supermarket and ski bus and a 5 minute walk from restaurants. What more could you ask for? Our children loved the quirkiness of the chalet and all the little individual touches.

We loved the chalet, so quirky and so many lovely things to feast your eyes on! Loved the “welcome goods” in the fridge, the great showers and the “cool” utility room, great in a heat wave!

Grange family, Chalet Tir na nOg, July 2015

Lovely cosy apartment with everything a family of 4 children, two parents and one set of grand parents could need - plus very accommodating and friendly owners. Super, memorable time here!

Diane and Gordon Pargeter, Chalet Tir na nOg. February 2014.

In dutch "Tir na nOg" would mean "Sream for more"! We would love to come back, it really is a wonderful place. We loved the cosy village and the magnificent 'Walhalla' you created. Thanks for the hospitality!

Jakob Vermandere, Chalet Tir na nOg. March 2014.

About the owner

Shane hails from Westport, Ireland. In 1999, he moved to France. Finally settling in Samoens in 2003, where he now runs a small bar in the village “Coveys” Irish bar.

Asa Granander, born in Stockholm, Sweden, skied all through her childhood and was destined to live in the mountains. On completing her studies in “Sports massage” she worked many seasons in the Alps and Asa jumped at the chance of making Samoens their new home in 2003, where she was a resort Manager for Alps Accommodation and now runs her own clothing company “Popcorn Vintage” . They are also the proud parents of two beautiful girls, Juliette and Nikita, who attend the local school in Samoens.

Our love of the mountains is the driving force behind all that we do here in Samoëns. We’ve tried to design Chalet Tir na nOg with a view to all we’ve learned through the years and we really hope our guests can benefit from this. Tir na nOg is a mythical Irish land where everyone feels great and no one grows old……This is our wish for all those who stay with us! Looking forward to welcoming you soon to Chalet Tir na nOg, Shane and Asa”
