In winter, the Vercland telecabine, Le Saix is just two minutes' walk and is chosen by many locals for its’ limited queues, takes you directly to Samoens 1600, ensuring instant access to the Grand Massif ski area. Directly opposite you at the top of this lift is the ski hire shop who offer Alps Accommodation guests 20% discount and you can leave your skis and boots there overnight free of charge.  Depending on snow conditions, you can ski the lovely long red run down to within 150m of the chalet.  This run has been improved with the addition of plenty of snow cannons, or alternatively you take the ski lift down.  Please note that the Vercland ski lift is subject to a closure date one week prior to the Samoens ski lifts, with a replacement ski bus service in place to the Samoens telecabine.

For summer holidays, the chalet has direct access onto stunning alpine walking trails, including a route to the Grand Massif Express gondola lift open in July and August taking 20 minutes, and into Samoens center, approximately 25 minutes. Mountain bikers can access numerous popular routes at ease from Chalet Mysig.

This property is privately owned and has been carefully selected to be in Alps Accommodation’s premier portfolio. It has a Sunday changeover day, however in low season and for last minute bookings, flexible arrival day and length of stay may be available. Contact us for more information.

Chalet Mysig is arranged over 3 levels, and 146m2 (26m2 in the upper eaves are below 1.8m high), of light and spacious farmhouse accommodation.  Semi-detached, with another chalet to rear, it has been renovated with comfort and convenience in mind.  It has a cosy farmhouse feel, yet a fresh and bright interior, due to the cool pale walls and modern furnishings.  As you enter the chalet via the original carved wooden door, you arrive in the hallway with plenty of space for all your outdoor gear.  The luxurious boot warmer is an added bonus, which you pass by to reach the impressive open plan kitchen, diner and lounge area.

The living area is a spacious 7.3m in length, offering a great space to unwind and chill after a day in the mountains.  The contemporary kitchen comes superbly equipped with a large American style fridge freezer, Senseo coffee machine, raclette machine, built in oven and separate microwave, dishwasher.  A real highlight is the large island unit, with chunky deep drawers beneath, and the ceramic hob and extractor fan taking centre stage.  There are metres of work space for budding chefs to easily cater for larger groups, plus a breakfast bar to grab an informal drink or snack on the trendy black bar stools.

Next is the dining area with a large table positioned under the pale cream pendant lights.  The table can extend to seat 10 people if there are youngsters in the group.  Surrounding the table are modern light grey chairs and diners can enjoy relaxed meals and views across the gardens.

Entering into the lounge area, kick back and relax in the deep and comfy corner sofa, or additional 2-3 seater.  Home entertainment is provided with a large TV, PS3 and games, Blue-ray DVD's, and your attention will no doubt be drawn to the original built in cupboard/dresser which oozes farmhouse charm and comes equipped with games.

In addition on the entrance level is the utility and laundry room, with washing machine, sink and WC.  Additional facilities include a cot and highchair which can be provided on request, and Wi-Fi.  Leading off the hallway, you can take the wooden stairs up the 4 spacious bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

About the owner

We are a family of 4 who first discovered the Grand Massif ski area back in 2007 when we were looking for great family skiing, with sunshine and a good mix of pistes. The bonus was that this area is brilliant for summertime activities too! We love cycling, horse riding, hiking in the summer, and skiing and ice-skating in the winter. We bought Chalet Mysig (Swedish for 'cosy, comfortable, and contentedness) to have a place that we could enjoy with extended family and friends, and so far we have had wonderful Christmas celebrations, and spent glorious long summer days together here. We hope that everyone who comes to stay enjoys the easy comforts of Chalet Mysig too!
