Morillon Village

Morillon lies in the picturesque Giffre Valley in the Haute Savoie region of the Northern French Alps. Only 50 minutes drive from Geneva airport and 15 minutes from the nearest motorway junction, Morillon is one of the most easily accessed resorts in the Alps. All of our accommodation in Morillon are in excellent locations and offer great facilities.

Morillon is home of the Olympic downhill gold medalist Antoine Dénériaz. The telecabine for skiers and non skiers, is located in the heart of the village and takes you to 1100 metres altitude in only a few minutes, where you can access pistes of all varieties and to suit all levels of skier and snowboarder. One of the most beautiful pistes in the Grand Massif, The Marvel... which is lined by trees and 8km long, can be found in Morillon.  Much of the season you can ski from 1100 down to the village centre positioned at 800m.  The Creche is located at Morillon 1100, more information can be found in our Families section.

Morillon makes a great base for a summer holiday with Lac Bleu being the centre of all activities with a life guarded sandy beach for swimming, horse and pony rides for all ages, adventure parks, pump track, giant inflatables, tennis, volleyball, as well as rafting down the river and mini-golf just a few metres down the road from the lake. Or take a stroll along the river to Samoëns in about 50 minutes. There is also a fabulous lake-side bar and restaurant serving up great food and of course, the obligatory ice-cream!

Morillon 1100 (less than 10 minutes drive from Morillon village) has tennis courts, a basketball court/football pitch, and plenty of open grassy areas. Two lifts are open for the summer holidays, which take you up to many hiking and biking trails, as well as the amazing L'Igloo restaurant, a great restaurant with an incredible view! Or a couple of minutes walk from the top of the lift brings you to a restaurant on a mountain farm, where they serve up delicious local meats and cheese, and the not-to-miss potato cakes.

The village itself is steeped in history and is a real working village unspoilt by tourism.  It has its very own weekly market on Wednesdays, as well as numerous bars and restaurants serving a variety of tasty local cuisine. There is a quaint church, supermarket, various sports shops with equipment hire, tourist information centre, cash point, medical centre, chemist, activity operators, tennis courts, football pitch, adventure park, swimming lake an ice rink and everything else you would expect from a well equipped mountain resort.  Just 5 minutes drive away is Samoëns village and all it has to offer.
