Les Chardons Argentes D3, also known as Chalet Valerie, is a luxury apartment located in a prestigious MGM alpine-styled chalet complex in the heart of historic Samoens. The apartment consists of 2 spacious and beautifully decorated bedrooms with a further sofa bed meaning 4/6 people can be hosted comfortably. Relaxing swims in the ‘residents only’ indoor swimming pool are a must with the pool being open all year round. The apartment is situated in a secluded corner of the development and benefits from a great deal of privacy, yet is only 50m walk from the ski bus stop, tourist office 400m, ice rink and creche. The Grand Massif Express Gondola is an easy 10 minute walk, and if you chose to use one of our partner rental shops, ski equipment storage is available at the top or bottom of the ski lift. The  apartment is also just a 4-5 minute walk from Samoens’ magnificent lakes and the many summer time activities surrounding them.  This provides the perfect location for holidays at all times of the year.

This property is privately owned and has been carefully selected to be in Alps Accommodation’s premier portfolio. It has a Saturday changeover day, however in low season and for last minute bookings, flexible arrival day and length of stay may be available. Contact us for more information.

On entering Chardons Argentes D3 the spaciousness of the open plan living, dining and kitchen areas combined with the fantastic light flooding in through the large French windows are immediately obvious. The apartment has been thoughtfully decorated with high quality furnishings to produce a luxurious and ‘homely’ atmosphere.

The kitchen has been equipped to an excellent standard with a large combination microwave oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher and, of course, plenty of space to create a delicious meal! Guests can also enjoy the use of a fondue set. The dining area can comfortably seat up to 6 people.

Moving on to the living area there is a large and very comfortable sofa, with additional arm chair, from which the whole group can enjoy an evening in front of the large LCD TV. A blu-ray DVD player and Wii with DVDs and games are provided along with a great selection of books and board games and free Wi-Fi throughout. The apartment is equipped with an iPod docking station. We can’t forget the great views which can be enjoyed from the warmth of the sofa out over the communal landscaped gardens, with traditional farmhouses and beautiful mountain views beyond.

The two spacious bedrooms of Chardons Argentes D3 have been finished beautifully and are a real highlight. In the ensuite master bedroom there is a king size bed with large built in wardrobes and chest of drawers providing great storage and room for a cot. The ensuite bathroom consists of a shower with sink and vanity unit. The second bedroom has a king size bed which can be arranged as a twin on request.  Ample storage space is provided by a built in wardrobe and chest of drawers. A second LCD TV with DVD player provides entertainment and adds to the already luxurious feel of the apartment.  The second bathroom, is nice and spacious and has a bath with integrated shower, plus a sink with lots of cupboard space. There is also a separate wc. A washing machine with dryer are also provided.



Chardons Argentes D3 is located in a secluded corner of the complex and therefore benefits from a great deal of privacy, not to mention uninterrupted views to the distant pistes. From the terrace you can step straight out onto the communal grounds where one can kick a ball or throw a frisby! The private terrace enjoys the sun for most of the afternoon and evening and provides fantastic views over landscaped communal gardens with traditional farmhouses and mountains beyond. A truly great place to relax, play or enjoy a dramatic sunset with a glass of wine. Guests can make use of private underground parking, a ski locker, and a communal bike store. The fantastic ‘residents only’ indoor swimming pool is situated 50m from the apartment and is open all year round.

The Chardons Argentes residence is located in a fantastic position within the village of Samoëns. Offering guests absolute convenience but in a tranquil setting situated at the end of a quiet Samoëns street, Chardons D3 is the perfect year-round holiday destination.

The historic Samoëns village centre is only 400m away, or a flat 5-minute walk. Here, you can enjoy the many shops, bars and restaurants, stroll through the beautiful botanical gardens, or simply admire the ancient buildings around the medieval town square. Don’t forget to visit the bustling Wednesday morning market.

The village tourist office is only 400m away. In the winter months the free and regular ski buses leave from just 50m away, taking you to the main Grand Massif Express lift and access to our impressive skiing domain in a matter of minutes. Samoëns’ newly built ice skating rink is also a mere 400m stroll from the property, offering guests another favourite winter pastime.

In the summer, a short 400m walk will take you to the beautiful Bois Aux Dames lakes and leisure facilities. Make the most of the weather and enjoy the summer pool, tennis courts, golf driving range, horse riding, fishing and more. The Grand Massif Express lift is also open throughout July and August, allowing guests access to the ample walking trails, adventurous downhill mountain biking terrain, and not to mention stunning scenery of the mountains in summer.

A large supermarket is situated just a short 2-minute drive from Chardons D3. Alternatively, you can walk to it in about 10-minutes.

We had a fantastic stay in your apartment! It was everything we hoped it would be and the town and surrounding area was too. I'd especially like to comment on the comfort of the beds. Our group of two couples and a 10month old little boy had the most wonderful time at Chalet Valerie! Cracking apartment in a great location in the charming town of Samoens. Previous experiences when self-catering have been things like blunt knives and non-stick pans that are no longer non-stick! But everything we could have needed was sharp! Wonderfully equipped from the Kitchen to Bathrooms.  Checking in with Tim (resort manager) was easy and full of useful local knowledge for those who don’t know the town. I wouldn’t hesitate to choose Chalet Valerie again on our return to Samoens. Thanks for your help with booking everything.

About the owner

My husband and I have skiied for years and are lucky enough to ski at least twice a season. I have wanted to have a place of my own in the Alps for a long time and a couple of years ago I stumbled upon the Grand Massif. Then when my Mum sadly passed away this year I decided the best way to use my inheritance was to buy that place! I discovered Samoëns and immediately knew that this was a great place both to ski and to holiday in the summer months. So in her honour 'Chalet Valerie' was bought. We have tried to make it a home from home and kitted it out as we would if we lived in it. We intend to spend many happy holidays here and hope you enjoy using it too.
Even though we do not live in the alps (more's the pity) you will have English speaking in resort managers who can assist with any issues that may arise while you are there making your holiday as stress free as possible. Have a great time!
