The chalet has been luxuriously and lovingly renovated, retaining its alpine charm mixed with a modern and contemporary feel. Located 100m from the free ski bus stop which takes you to the main Morillon telecabine in a few minutes, or the lift is a 12 minute walk.  It is an ideal position, with the added convenience of a bakery, bars, Tourist office, restaurants, an ice rink and cross country skiing all within a few minutes’ walk.  Samoens is also close by, about 5 minutes drive.

Surrounded by a large secluded garden, it makes for perfect for holidays throughout the year. The famous Morillon Lac Bleu with summer beach, swimming, tennis, horse riding and adventure parks are a 3-4 minute flat walk, wonderfully catering for families and groups. Or just simply relax in the chalet gardens with the refreshing hot tub and a BBQ.

Sleeping up to 9 people and well-arranged over 2 floors, the property offers 4 light and spacious bedrooms, and 3 modern bathrooms. Plus the fabulous living space boasts a lovely cosy log burner, providing a focal point and offering the ultimate place to sit back and relax in the deep and comfy sofas after a hard day in the mountains. The chalet is offered catered or self-catered, tailored to suit your individual needs.

This property is privately owned and has been carefully selected to be in Alps Accommodation’s premier portfolio. It has a Sunday changeover day, however in low season and for last minute bookings, flexible arrival day and length of stay may be available. Contact us for more information.

You enter the chalet on the first floor through the fully equipped contemporary kitchen. This contains everything your budding chef needs, with plenty of work space, a full sized cooker with 4 ring ceramic touch screen hob, microwave, coffee machine, dish washer, Nespresso coffee machine, large fridge freezer and even a raclette and fondue set, so you can sample the local dishes without even leaving the chalet!

Leading off the kitchen, you reach the spacious and incredibly light living and dining area. With a warm wooden interior, modern alpine decor and floor to ceiling curtains, it is a truly cosy place for nights in after a hard days skiing. There are 2 sets of south facing French windows, offering stunning views towards the Morillon ski pistes, and a large easterly window looking up the valley to the famous Criou and Buet mountains. Step out one of the French windows onto the large balcony, sweeping around 3 sides of the chalet, and take in these views. From the balcony you can watch the sun set down the valley, and see the mountains turn an interesting shade of pink.

There is an outside dining table and chairs for those alfresco meals, and the whole balcony is covered with the extending roof, so you can sit out “whatever the weather”! Also situated on the balcony is a table football table.

The lounge has 2 huge comfy leather sofas, plenty of seating for groups of 9 positioned around the log fire, and huge coffee table, so you can relax with a glass of wine and one of the family board games provided. There is also a large TV, with English satellite channels, and a DVD player and DVD’s. Wi-Fi is provided throughout the chalet free of charge.

The large dining table seats groups comfortably and boasts lovely views and light flooding in through the many windows, offering an ideal spot to dine at leisure.

Chalet Cristal is located in a quiet corner of Verchaix, on the Morillon boarder, just a 5-minute drive from Samoëns. It offers a perfect location for year-round holiday to the Alps.

The chalet is situated just 100m from the nearest ski bus stop, which offers quick and easy access to the nearby Morillon telecabine and impressive Grand Massif ski domain. Alternatively, you can drive to the Morillon telecabine, where there is ample free parking in the large carpark just 1.2km away. It is equally feasible to walk to the lift, and takes about 12-minutes. The village ice-skating rink is only a 5-minute walk from the chalet, offering guests another favourite winter pastime. Depending on snow conditions there is also some excellent cross country skiing terrain about 500m from the chalet.

In the summer, Lac Bleu leisure complex has enough activities to keep you entertained all week long, and is located just a 5-minute walk from Chalet Cristal. Swim in the lake under the watchful eye of lifeguards, or zip through the trees in the fabulous Les Aventuriers du Lac’s high ropes course. There’s also a playground and giant inflatable kids park, pony rides, beach volley ball, tennis and mini golf.  And while the kids are running around, the grownups can enjoy a glass of cold, crisp wine (or a soft drink) on the sunny terrace of La Covagne, the bar/restaurant overlooking the lake. They also do pretty awesome ice cream sundaes!

Verchaix boasts its own bakery and small selection of bars and restaurants. The village tourist office is also just around the corner from the chalet. A 10-minute walk away is the stunning and popular village centre of Morillon, with a supermarket, shops, and more choices of bars and restaurants. If that’s not enough, Samoëns village and all its amenities are just a 5-minute drive away, or you can cycle along the stunning riverside tow path during summer.

The chalet was perfect for our two families. Just the right size and the hot tub and wood burner were excellent. Ski buses were easy to navigate and pick up was very close. Highly recommended.

Thanks for all the service within the house! We have had a great time at Chalet Cristal.

Raaijmakers Family, Chalet Cristal, February 2016

We had a fantastic time in Chalet Cristal this January. Everything from initial booking to the end of the stay was flawless thanks to the great team at Alps Accommodation. The chalet itself is very spacious and does have a 'home away from home' feeling created by quality decor and finishes. It is fully equipped with all the things you might need during your stay, including raclette machine and BBQ which we have put to good use throughout the week. The center fireplace, as well as the hot tub outside, were real crowd pleasers and definitely contributed towards our fantastic time. The chalet is conveniently located just around the corner from the ski bus stop and only 10 minutes walk from the center of Morillon. There is also a great bakery close by for fresh croissants and tasty bread in the morning. Morillon village itself is really charming. All in all, very positive experience and I do recommend Chalet Cristal to everyone. In case we decide to return to Grand Massif I will most definitely book with Alps Accommodation again.

Vito party, Chalet Cristal, January 2016

This was a sweet, cosy feel, clean, traditional, spacious 4 bedroom chalet. It had plenty of space and storage for our three week summer stay. The chalet location was excellent for Lac Bleu which offered a restaurant, swimming in the lake, crazy golf, high ropes, trampolines, a bar, ice creams and many other various activities for all age ranges. It was well placed for getting to the supermarket (with a car) which was in between Verchaix and Samoens. There is a fab vintage caravanette nearby the chalet that serves excellent hot food throughout the week. The kitchen was very well stocked for a holiday let & had everything a home would offer in terms of content. We loved having our breakfast on the wrap around veranda each morning looking out at the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed the chalet's hot tub each evening. One can walk to nearby shops and restaurants in Morillon or cycle/walk to Samoens from the chalet along the river. Clair the owner was excellent from start to finish helping with any questions promptly and gave us tips and ideas for excellent day trips. Our teenage daughter and her grandparents and us had a wonderful, pleasant stay here.

Keston family, Chalet Cristal, August 2015

The Chalet is in an ideal position for most things. We found the chalet very well equipped, with an abundance of crockery and cooking utensils, great to have the children's plates, cups and cutlery also. The living and dining area provided plenty of room for watching TV, playing games, relaxing and eating. Thank you for the safety gates at the top and bottom of the stairs. My husband and I slept in the upstairs double and found it very comfortable. The bed linen and towels were very good and we also found the storage in the bedrooms very good. We used the garden every day rain or shine and loved the hammocks. We would love to stay again winter or summer. The parking area was great for us as we have an 8 seater VW Transporter and some chalets we have stayed in do not have adequate space.

McLeod family, Chalet Cristal, July 2015

We had great times in Morillon spending a week in Chalet Cristal during the February half term.  The standard of the chalet and staff was excellent. It all felt very well maintained and was very clean. Lovely wood burner and comfortable sofas. Bedrooms all a good size and well appointed. Excellent boot room with heated boot rack then walk 10 yards and jump in the covered hot tub which caters for 6 comfortably.  It was our first time in this ski area and we really enjoyed it. Morillon was a friendly village and nearby Samoens lovely too.  Both 5/10 minute drive from the ski lifts - perfectly positioned!  Thank you for a lovely holiday. We would love to come back soon.

The Carroll Family, February 2015

We had a fantastic week at Chalet Cristal which is large and spacious, beautifully furnished and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need.  Comfy beds and duvets, fluffy towels and ample bathrooms added to our comfortable stay and the lovely spacious lounge with log fire, large sofas and satellite TV made for great evenings in after a nice home-cooked meal!  The location is great - the ski bus stop being just at the end of the street and a cute little pizzeria (great pizzas!) just round the corner.  Verchaix is a quiet little hamlet which makes for a lovely peaceful holiday but Morillon is close enough for a walk or short drive if you need more shops, bars and restaurants.  The Carrefour supermarket is conveniently not too far away along the road to Samoens if you've a car and Samoens itself, like Morillon, is a charming little town.  All in all, a wonderful place to spend a holiday and I'm sure we'll be tempted back there in the future.

Christina, February 2015

We had a great time, the chalet was lovely and Morillon Village is really nice.  We would definitely recommend Morillon and your chalet to others.

About the owners

We bought an off-plan apartment in Morillon in 2006 and since then we’ve been regular visitors in summer and winter and have grown to love the Giffre valley so much that we decided we wanted somewhere bigger with outside space. After a couple of years looking we found Chalet Cristal, which is the the perfect year-round location for us.  The skiing is fantastic for families, with an excellent ski school at Morillon 1100, and some great, reasonably-priced mountain restaurants.  The valley is even more beautiful in summer than in winter and our daughter loves playing in Lac Bleu and on the zip wires in the trees, both of which are just around the corner from the chalet.
