La Grange Samoens is a truly impressive chalet-apartment, offering guests more than 200m2 of pure, alpine luxury.  Located in the pretty and quiet Samoens hamlet of Vercland, situated just a 4 minutes walk from the Vercland telecabine and hamlet, with a couple of bars and restaurants.  The beautifully renovated, 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom farmhouse property cleverly arranged over 3 floors, sleeps up to 13 guests. Its elevated position affords stunning views over the Giffre valley and Samoens centre, just 2 minutes by car, and its magnificent interior has been stylishly designed to the highest quality and detail, ensuring maximum comfort throughout.  The local telecabine, chosen by many locals for its’ limited queues, takes you directly to Samoens 1600, ensuring instant access to the Grand Massif ski area.  Depending on conditions you can ski the red run down to within 400m of the chalet.  This run has been improved with the addition of plenty of new snow cannons.  Please note that the Vercland ski lift is subject to a closure date one week prior to the Samoens ski lifts, with a replacement ski bus service in place to the Samoens telecabine.  

Oozing with sophistication and style, La Grange Samoens still maintains a warm, mountain character. A central stone fireplace, exposed wooden beams and winding staircase leading to the upper levels are just some of the properties features. From the moment you enter La Grange through its second storey, front door fitted with hand rung iron doorbell, you will be swept away by this truly Savoyard yet chic farmhouse apartment. Occupying the top 3 floors, 200m2 of pure luxury awaits in this beautifully renovated farmhouse conversion which consists of 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a stunning open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, all of which have been furnished to the highest quality and detail.

The cosy entrance foyer with ample hanging space for coats screams “farmstay charm”, then a sense of five-star luxury immediately overtakes you as you open a second door and enter the main living space. To your right is the superbly equipped kitchen, its long, stone-topped work bench providing plenty of preparation space for your group’s budding chef. The kitchen is fitted with a full-size fridge with large freezer compartment, a full-size oven and four-burner induction hob, combination oven/microwave, and dishwasher. There are ample cupboards and cabinets for storage and all the cooking and serving utensils you could possibly need, including a fondue and raclette set so you can enjoy some traditional Savoyard cooking. There’s even a separate table in the kitchen with seating for four, perfect for serving early kid’s dinners, or simply for keeping the chef company.

To your left and past the apartment’s central feature - a beautiful, stone fireplace - is the bright and spacious open-plan living and dining room. The long wooden dining table seats large groups comfortably and there is also a colourful, kiddies table - perfect for your tiny tots - just under the staircase. When it’s time to relax lounge in front of the fire on a wintery night, or kick back in one of two other incredibly comfy sofas while enjoying a DVD or some satellite television viewing on the large, flat screen TV. There is also a great collection of books to choose from as well as games and playing cards. Wi-Fi Internet is of course available throughout the apartment and there is even a small study with space for two to work. Or just relax with a book in one of three large armchairs, two of which look out through huge windows onto grazing pastures and the mountain beyond.

One of the apartment’s 6 bedrooms is located on this lower level, as is a separate WC and utility room equipped with combination washer/dryer. The remaining 5 bedrooms are located on the second and upper mezzanine levels, which are accessed by the stunning staircase with original wooden banister. La Grange has private, off-road parking, including covered garage, and also benefits from a large and secure ski locker with heated boot rack.

La Grange boasts 6 spacious bedrooms, all of which have been furnished with only the highest quality items and with a design detail that really adds to the charm and luxury of this beautiful, alpine retreat. Bedroom 1, a king size room (bed 160cm x 200cm) is located on the apartment’s lower level. Space and luxury abounds with room for a large wardrobe as well as office/study. The room has a private ensuite bathroom with shower and WC. There is ample storage space for all your toiletries on the shelving unit and built in vanity unit with basin. There is also a heated towel rack and extra hanging space.

Up the stairs and to the left you will find Bedroom 2, another lovely king size room, which affords stunning views of the Giffre valley through its huge wall-sized window. This room is equipped with office/study, a large wardrobe and also TV for DVD viewing. Just next door is the apartment’s second bathroom, with shower and WC. Across the landing is Bedroom 3 a lovely triple room with single bed and full-size bunk bed. There are shelves for storage, a charming wooden bench seat, TV for DVD viewing, and also access to a balcony overlooking the fields behind the farmhouse and mountain beyond.

Bedroom 4, the family room, is just next door and consists of another king size bed, plus a beautiful wooden cot can be provided for a baby. This incredibly spacious room also gives access onto the balcony and is equipped with a large flat screen TV, cosy armchair, and large wardrobe. Bedrooms 3 and 4 share the third bathroom, a large and luxurious space with WC, and bath with overhead shower. This bathroom is also fitted with heated towel rack.

A second, smaller staircase leads to the upper mezzanine level where Bedrooms 5 and 6 are located. Experience loft-style living in these two charming twin rooms, each with two single beds, and plenty of storage space in built-in shelving units that run the full length of the apartment’s upper level.

La Grange has private, off-road parking, a large and secure ski locker with heated boot rack and also benefits from a lovely outdoor space. There is a table and chairs beside an authentic stone basin with water running direct from the source, where you can enjoy the summer months looking out over the Giffre valley below.
There is a stone BBQ available for use in the garden (shared with guests of La Ferme).

La Grange is located in a quiet hamlet just a 4-minute walk from the Vercland telecabine. Surrounded by nature, the property is located in a stunning farmhouse conversion, which offers magnificent views over Samoëns and the Haute Giffre valley. The village of Samoëns itself is only a short drive away. This convenience combined with the chalet’s enviable on-mountain position makes it the ideal year-round holiday destination.

Ideally located for winter sports enthusiasts, depending on snow conditions you can ski Vercland’s red or black runs down to within 500m of the chalet. Alternatively take the telecabine.  Our recommended ski hire shop, which is located at Samoëns 1600 is right opposite the top of this lift. Guests benefit from free ski lockers so there’s no need to take skis and boots back to the chalet. During winter there is a free ski bus, which transports guests to Samoëns and Morillon. Buses run during the day and early evening only and leave from in front of the Vercland telecabine.

Vercland also has an excellent bar / restaurant. Located a mere 4-minute walk from the chalet, La Reposette is open all day for meals and with its cosy log fire it’s a warm and welcoming choice.

For your summer holidays, the chalet provides direct access onto a number of stunning alpine walking trails, including a route to Samoëns, which takes around 25 minutes. A variety of popular mountain bike routes are also easily accessed from the chalet. Road cyclists can enjoy the winding climb from the chalet up to Samoëns 1600, or try the famous Col de Joux Plane on the opposite side of the valley.

Samoëns village boasts many shops, bars and restaurants, as well as an impressive ice skating rink, the picturesque Jaÿsinia Botanical Gardens, and the wonderful medieval town square with its beautiful church, ancient buildings and bustling Wednesday morning market.

La Grange is also just a 5-minute drive from the village of Morillon. There, you will find even more shops and restaurants and the beautiful Lac Bleu, which boasts an array of leisure facilities.

La Grange is an excellent location for skiing and walking, and about 20 minutes walk to the shops in Samoens centre. The chalet is spacious, warm, comfortable and well kitted out. There were 9 of us, enough room to all sit down and not feel crowded, and the dining table is large enough for more. The lounge seating is pleasant and well arranged. We had a wonderful time meeting with our old friends.
