Chalet Maya Samoens Stunning location very close to the piste and ski lift of Vercland

Chalet Maya is a modern and superbly located 7/8 bedroom, 5 bathroom chalet with hot tub and garden.  Sleeping 15 people in an impressive 290m2 of stylish living, the chalet is situated in a highly sought after location, just 100m from Samoens’ original ski lift and ski pistes of Vercland. This stunning Alpine chalet features a spacious open plan layout including a living area with log burner, dining area, and an impressive fully equipped kitchen. Stunning views towards the dramatic peak of the Criou can be enjoyed from a secluded garden with large bubbly hot tub, and two separate balconies.

The chalet offers the perfect peaceful, yet convenient alpine setting, for holidays throughout the year. In winter, the gondola 100m from the chalet, chosen by many locals for its’ limited queues, takes you directly to Samoens 1600, ensuring instant access to the Grand Massif ski area. Depending on snow conditions, you can ski the red run down to within 100m of the chalet.  The run has been improved with the addition of plenty of new snow cannons, or alternatively you take the ski lift down.  Our recommended ski hire shop, located at Samoens 1600 is right opposite the top of the lift, has free ski lockers, so there is no need to take skis and boots back to the chalet if you prefer.  Please note that the Vercland ski lift is subject to a closure date one week prior to the Samoens ski lifts, with a replacement ski bus service in place to the Samoens telecabine.

For summer holidays, the chalet has direct access onto stunning alpine walking trails, including a route to the gondola lift open in July and August, taking 20 minutes and into Samoens, approximately 25 minutes. Mountain bikers can access numerous popular routes at ease from Chalet Maya.

This property is privately owned and has been carefully selected to be in Alps Accommodation’s premier portfolio. It has a Friday changeover day, however in low season and for last minute bookings, flexible arrival day and length of stay may be available. Contact us for more information.

Chalet Maya Samoens Exterior

Chalet Maya is located in the peaceful hamlet of Vercland, just a 2.6 km drive from the centre of Samoëns. Conveniently located such a short distance from the village, and yet perched in an enviable position allowing direct access to the mountain, Chalet Maya is the perfect year-round holiday destination.

Situated just a short walk from the chalet’s front door is the Vercland telecabine, which transports you to Samoëns 1600 and access to our impressive ski domain in a matter of minutes. Or if you prefer, catch the free ski bus to Samoëns and Morillon villages. Buses operate during the day and early evening and leave from in front of the Vercland telecabine. In Vercland itself there is an excellent bar / restaurant. A local's favourite, La Reposette is situated just 100m from Chalet Maya and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner by the cosy log fire.

In summer, the chalet offers direct access to a number of hiking and mountain bike trails. Road cyclists may also enjoy the tough and winding climb from the chalet up to Samoëns 1600, or cruise down into the village and across to the opposite side of the valley to attempt the famous Col de Joux Plane. The Grand Massif Express lift is just a 20-minute walk from the chalet. As well as operating throughout the winter season, the Grand Massif Express lift is open during July and August, providing guests with access to higher mountain trails for both walking and biking.

Samoëns is approximately a 20 to 25-minute walk from the chalet in summer. Samoëns village boasts many shops, bars, restaurants, ice rink (winter only), and the famous Jaÿsinia Gardens. There is also a wonderful medieval town square with its beautiful church, ancient buildings and bustling Wednesday morning market.

Chalet Maya is also just a 5-minute drive from the village of Morillon. There, you will find even more shops and restaurants and the beautiful Lac Bleu, which boasts an array of leisure facilities.

The GPS Coordinates of this chalet are: 46.073288 N, 6.700506 E

Superb - Staff are very helpful and friendly with lots of helpful communication and information. The ski chalets are great and Samoens is a lovely picturesque town. We went end of season so quiet on the slopes also.

Sharpe family, Chalet Maya, April 2017

We greatly enjoyed our stay in this lovely and well-equipped house. The perfect base for mountain walks, lovely views and very peaceful to boost. Super spacious kitchen and dining room and outdoor easting spaces so we could enjoy each others company and the gorgeous views at the same time. Perfect setting.

Beckwith family, Chalet Maya, July 2016

A really great holiday, fun packed and active with paragliding, mountain biking, rafting and walking in these beautiful mountains. The chalet is lovely and very well-equipped with everything we needed and more! A really great holiday had by all.

Edmunds family, Chalet Maya, August 2016

Morgans, Chalet Maya, April 2015

Property fantastic and to a very high standard, we loved our stay.

Smith group, Chalet Maya, Jan 2015

We have had a great time, and the chalet exceeded our expectations. Your team were very professional and thorough, and I have nothing but praise for the way they handled the introduction etc. I must admit to having some reservations after I booked it about the location (it being not actually in the village), however it proved to be absolutely excellent with the queue free lift, great snow and the opening of La Reposette which was the icing on the cake. It’s a great bar, the food was top notch and a very memorable New Year was had there.

About the Owners

We have been skiing in Samoens with our children family and friends and fell in love with the small Hamlet of Vercland. Our 2 boys loved the skiing and Tobogganing whilst they were young. Now they are teenagers they love the array of skiing which is great for families as it caters for skiers of all abilities. There are the fast slopes in Flaine, the off-piste slopes around Sixt, the gentle amble to Lac de Gers to enjoy the breath-taking views and the frozen lake. The locals add a really warm feel to the region and Vercland has a nice small village feel but has the benefits of a lift being very close. La Reposette offers a good family après ski destination as well as being able to dine out at Le Boule de Neige, all just 50m from our Chalet. What more would you need form a skiing holiday!
