The chalet's first floor boasts a bright and open plan kitchen and dining area, with double height ceiling looking up to a gallery and mezzanine level under exposed wooden beams. The kitchen is huge and has been designed with large groups in mind. Guests will love the expanse of reclaimed oak work surfaces, uniquely made from the underside of railway carriages. There are numerous kitchen units, an extra wide induction hob and large electric fan oven, double fridge unit, separate freezer, as well as other conveniences such as a microwave, dishwasher, a Nespresso coffee machine, and for cheese lovers a raclette and fondue machine. The island unit with cool grey granite surface, provides a superb focal point for the chalet kitchen, with bar stools and more than enough space for plenty of budding chefs to prepare meals together. Access is also provided out to the flat lawned garden with terrace, if things get too hot in the kitchen.
Positioned under the exquisite chandelier, the large reclaimed oak topped dining table (2.9m to be precise!), sits adjacent to the kitchen and comfortably seats 12 people. Tall double sliding french doors provide access to the spacious balcony where stunning views can be enjoyed across to the Criou, with plenty of space for outside dining or simply relaxing with a drink.
Leading off the huge kitchen diner, you walk past the beautiful hand crafted old wooden staircase, to reach the cosy living area. This area offers a huge comfy corner sofa, located next to the wood burner, and comes complete with satellite TV, making this an ideal spot to kick back and chill after a busy day in the mountains. For more living space guests can spread themselves out into the ground floor snug area with LCD TV, DVD player, games console and table football, providing further entertainment for all ages. In addition the galleried mezzanine level above provides further seating in the form of a double sofa bed.
Still on the first floor, is the main entrance and hall with ample storage cupboards. Positioned just behind the stairs you reach the height of luxury, the impressive indoor heated swimming pool and sauna, a real treat for the groups to enjoy exclusively at any time of the year. There is the added benefit of a glass wall off the hall, so the swimming pool is in sight from the hall and living spaces, should you wish to keep watch on the swimmers. A great sized pool, rarely found in alpine chalets, at 10.2 metres long x 4.2 metres wide, it offers plenty of space for a proper swim or for the kids to play. The pool has the added benefit of being is ozone treated, with no added chemicals. Not forgetting of course the steamy sauna found next to the pool area and a huge walk in shower and separate WC also located in this area.
Take the reclaimed oak stairs to the lower floor of around 100m2. Home to the spacious snug, the large entrance lobby with ski and boot storage, plus and the utility room, complete with loads more storage and hanging space, a washing machine and dryer. Three bedrooms are also located on this level, a family suite with two bedrooms and a bathroom, and a king sized ensuite bedroom.
The chalet offers an environmentally friendly geothermic ground source heating system, drawing heat from well below the earth's surface and pumping it into the chalets heating and hot water system. The ground and first floors of the chalet come equipped with under floor heating beneath the quality stone tiles. Free Wi-Fi can also be enjoyed throughout chalet.
