Chalet Le Strange Samoens Main Image

Chalet Le Strange offers the absolute height of luxury, constructed in 2016 and individually designed.  With 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a snug, mezzanine with sofa bed, sauna and indoor private swimming pool, it sleeps 10/12 people in pure style.  The chalet has an impressive 300m2 of living space, plus another 50m2 of snug, storage and space under the eaves.  The chalet boasts the most space per person of any chalets in our portfolio, yet still managing to offer an elegant decor and graceful atmosphere.

The chalet is situated in a highly sought after location, less than 100m from the ski pistes of Vercland and Samoens’ original ski lift.  This lift, chosen by many locals for its’ limited queues, takes you directly to Samoens 1600, ensuring instant access to the Grand Massif ski area.  Depending on conditions you can ski the red run down to within 100m of the chalet.  The run has been improved with the addition of plenty of new snow cannons, or alternatively you take the ski lift down.  Our recommended ski hire shop located at Samoens 1600, right opposite the top of the lift, has free ski lockers, so there is no need to take skis and boots back to the chalet overnight if you prefer.  Please note that the Vercland ski lift is subject to a closure date one week prior to the Samoens ski lifts, with a replacement ski bus service in place to the Samoens telecabine.

Set in a convenient, yet tranquil alpine spot, in a small cul-de-sac, complete with private gardens which can be enjoyed at any time of the year.  For spring, summer and autumn holidays, the chalet has direct access onto stunning alpine walking trails, including a route to the Samoens summer lift open in July and August, taking 20 minutes, and into Samoens village itself approximately 25 minutes walk.  Mountain bikers can access numerous popular routes at ease from Chalet Le Strange.  Or if you don't want to leave the chalet, simply relax in the pool and gardens.

This property is privately owned and we are delighted to include it in our portfolio. It has a Friday changeover day, however in low season and for last minute bookings, flexible arrival day and length of stay may be available. Contact us for more information.

Chalet Le Strange in Samoens, has been designed with ultimate luxury and comfort in mind, for families and groups alike.  The owners have lovingly sourced high quality products, which mixed with neutral colours and contemporary design, ensure a truly special feel to the chalet.

The chalet's first floor boasts a bright and open plan kitchen and dining area, with double height ceiling looking up to a gallery and mezzanine level under exposed wooden beams.  The kitchen is huge and has been designed with large groups in mind.  Guests will love the expanse of reclaimed oak work surfaces, uniquely made from the underside of railway carriages.  There are numerous kitchen units, an extra wide induction hob and large electric fan oven, double fridge unit, separate freezer, as well as other conveniences such as a microwave, dishwasher, a Nespresso coffee machine, and for cheese lovers a raclette and fondue machine.  The island unit with cool grey granite surface, provides a superb focal point for the chalet kitchen, with bar stools and more than enough space for plenty of budding chefs to prepare meals together.  Access is also provided out to the flat lawned garden with terrace, if things get too hot in the kitchen.

Positioned under the exquisite chandelier, the large reclaimed oak topped dining table (2.9m to be precise!), sits adjacent to the kitchen and comfortably seats 12 people.  Tall double sliding french doors provide access to the spacious balcony where stunning views can be enjoyed across to the Criou, with plenty of space for outside dining or simply relaxing with a drink.

Leading off the huge kitchen diner, you walk past the beautiful hand crafted old wooden staircase, to reach the cosy living area.  This area offers a huge comfy corner sofa, located next to the wood burner, and comes complete with satellite TV, making this an ideal spot to kick back and chill after a busy day in the mountains.  For more living space guests can spread themselves out into the ground floor snug area with LCD TV, DVD player, games console and table football, providing further entertainment for all ages. In addition the galleried mezzanine level above provides further seating in the form of a double sofa bed.

Still on the first floor, is the main entrance and hall with ample storage cupboards.  Positioned just behind the stairs you reach the height of luxury, the impressive indoor heated swimming pool and sauna, a real treat for the groups to enjoy exclusively at any time of the year.  There is the added benefit of a glass wall off the hall, so the swimming pool is in sight from the hall and living spaces, should you wish to keep watch on the swimmers. A great sized pool, rarely found in alpine chalets, at 10.2 metres long x 4.2 metres wide, it offers plenty of space for a proper swim or for the kids to play.  Not forgetting of course the steamy sauna found next to the pool area and a huge walk in shower and separate WC also located in this area.

Take the reclaimed oak stairs to the lower floor of around 100m2.  Home to the spacious snug, the large entrance lobby with ski and boot storage, plus and the utility room, complete with loads more storage and hanging space, a washing machine and dryer.  Three bedrooms are also located on this level, a family suite with two bedrooms and a bathroom, and a king sized ensuite bedroom.

The chalet offers an environmentally friendly geothermic ground source heating system, drawing heat from well below the earth's surface and pumping it into the chalets heating and hot water system.  The ground and first floors of the chalet come equipped with under floor heating beneath the quality stone tiles. Free Wi-Fi can also be enjoyed throughout chalet.

Pets are not accepted in this property.  Please contact us for advice on pet friendly accommodation.

Chalet Le Strange is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in the peaceful hamlet of Vercland, just 2.6 km from the centre of Samoëns.  Conveniently located such a short distance from the village, and yet perched in an enviable position allowing direct access to the mountain, the chalet is the perfect year-round holiday destination.

It is ideally located for winter sports activities, sitting just 100m from the foot of a red and black ski run, and also Vercland telecabine. In a matter of minutes you can be transported to Samoëns 1600 from where you can access the rest of our impressive skiing domain.

Should you wish to visit the local villages during winter, you can catch the free ski bus into either Samoëns or Morillon. Buses run during the day and early evening only and leave from just outside the Vercland telecabine.

There is also an excellent bar / restaurant just 100m from the chalet. La Reposette is open all day for meals and with its cosy log fire it’s a warm and welcoming choice.

In summer the chalet offers direct access to a number of hiking and mountain bike routes. Road cyclists can try the tough and winding climb from the chalet to Samoëns 1600, or cruise down into the village and across to the opposite side of the valley to attempt the famous Col de Joux Plane.

It’s also possible to walk to Samoëns in the summer. The village centre is about a 25-minute walk and the Grand Massif Express lift, which opens during July and August is only 20-minutes away.

Samoëns village boasts many shops, bars and restaurants, as well as an impressive ice skating rink, the picturesque Jaÿsinia Botanical Gardens, and the wonderful medieval town square with its beautiful church, ancient buildings and bustling Wednesday morning market.

Chalet Le Strange is also just a 5-minute drive from the village of Morillon. There, you will find even more shops and restaurants and the beautiful Lac Bleu, which boasts an array of leisure facilities.

A fabulous week at a stunning property in a perfect location. Thank you.

Henry and family, Chalet le Strange, August 2018

This was a fantastic chalet for a big family get together from 14 months old to 63 ish ! Plenty to do for non-skiers and the pool was a big plus. Great set up on our arrival by the team and a smooth departure, I hope we will be back. The chalet is superb with great attention to detail right down to the stair gates for our young grandson. The finish throughout is exceptional.

Charlton family, Chalet le Strange, March 2018

Chalet Le Strange is amazing. It's our second time we booked our winter holidays with Alps Accomodation and we love them. Last year, we booked Chalet Gentiane Blueu - also fantastic. We are looking forward to enjoy our next stay at The Penthouse Morillon 1100 on February 2019. We already booked for next year because we trust all Alps Accommodation properties. Thank you very much for making our vacations incredible!

Fidelin party, Chalet Le Strange, March 2018

The Chalet is an amazing property which our family enjoyed. The pool was a huge bonus after a day's skiing. Our two grandsons loved it, so we have booked for next year as well. Only 51 weeks to go!!!!

Martin Holmes, Chalet le Strange, January 2018

We had a great holiday and loved the chalet - thank you.

Capel family, Chalet le Strange, January 2018

We had an amazing holiday in Chalet Le Strange. The standard of accommodation was excellent and we loved the chalet, especially the indoor pool. The beds were really comfortable and it felt like staying in a 5 star hotel. Ash (of Flat PEAK property management) was there to meet us and was really helpful and I would have had no hesitation in contacting her and Mike if we had needed to. We had 2 fabulous meals at Le Repossette. Would definitely recommend. The market in Samoens on the Wednesday was great and we visited Indiana Park in Samoens and the outdoor pool which were both fantastic for our girls (13, 12 and 9). The walk around Cirque-du-fer-a-Cheval was incredible and a really good day out. The booking process and using Alps Accommodation was really good and I would have no hesitation in using them again or recommending them to others.

The Irvine Family, Chalet le Strange, August 2017

We had the most amazing week staying at Chalet Le Strange in May/June 2017. Everything was perfectly thought out and the chalet was so welcoming with LOADS of room for us all to have our own space. The beds were super comfy and the pool was great fun. The kitchen was well equipped and the outdoor seating area a delight to relax in after a long day out walking and cycling. I couldn't recommend Alps Accommodation or this Chalet any more highly. We'll be back!

Ford family, Chalet le Strange, May/June 2017

The chalet was gorgeous - cannot fault it. The pool was an amazing bonus for adults and kids. The owner should be congratulated on producing a fabulous holiday home. The location of the chalet was brilliant - right next to Vercland lift and La Reposette. We used lockers at 1600 and it was so easy. Thank you.

Hennessey group, Chalet le Strange, February 2017

We had a wonderful time thank you. The chalet was beautiful – and the best equipped we have been in – in a great location too. Please pass on our thanks to the owners – we had the most fantastic week.

The Moneys, Chalet le Strange, August/September 2016

Thank you, we had a great time and I have to say Chalet le Strange was the best ski chalet we’ve ever stayed in and we have stayed in a few over the years!

The Averty family, Chalet le Strange, February 2016

We had an excellent stay at Chalet Le Strange last week, thank you to the property managers and Alps Accommodation in assisting. The Chalet was excellent and perfect for our requirements, as well as being ideally located to the ski lift.  Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Vercland/Samoens, and will strongly consider this again for our holiday next year.

The Rochow's, Chalet le Strange, January 2016

About the owner

My husband Chris and myself live in London and we have three children. My fathers family have been in Vercland for generations and most still are. As a child I lived and went to school in Vercland so a lot of thought and emotion has gone into building our chalet which hopefully future generations and guest will enjoy! Brigitte.
