Location

Location

At the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and surrounded by private gardens, Chalet Chamoissiere is in a prime location just a 3-minute walk from the historic town centre of Samoëns. Quiet, and yet conveniently located to Samoëns’ many shops, restaurants, bars, picturesque town square and gardens, the chalet is an ideal year-round holiday destination.

In winter, the bus stop for the free ski bus is just 50-metres from the chalet, opposite a small supermarket. The impressive, newly built ice skating rink is only a 5-minute walk from the chalet.

In summer, the Grand Massif Express lift operates throughout July and August and allows guests access to the many hiking and biking trails the Grand Massif has to offer. The lift is also little more than a 5-minute walk or quick drive from the chalet.

Drive 10-minutes out of Samoëns and immerse yourself in the stunning scenery of Sixt and the Cirque du Fer a Cheval. At certain times in the season up to 30 waterfalls tumble over 2000m high cliffs in this spectacular national park. The chalet is also centrally located for visits to the Giffre valley’s other quaint, alpine villages.

We really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful chalet! It was very comfortable and has a perfect location. Don't be surprised if we book the chalet again! Thanks a lot.

Fabulous chalet. Perfect for access to slopes and town. We enjoyed the hot tub after skiing. We had an amazing extended family holiday, we prayed for snow and it came!

Matei and family, Chalet Chamossiere, August 2022

Thank you so much for having us here. It was an amazing 5 days and we had so much fun. We parapented, hiked, rafted, and cooked some great meals. The house was great and we played ping pong and went in the hot tuub every day. Great stay, thanks again!

Sophie and family, Chalet Chamoissiere, July 2022

Thank you for a wonderful venue where we were able to reunite with friends, cook and eat together and relax in the garden.

Bartu Family, Chalet Chamoissiere, July 2022

It was lovely to be back in Samoens again and Chalet Chamoissiere in particular; it can comfortably accommodate 3 families. It is in an ideal location for access to the village and ski bus and I would happily recommend it as a base for skiing in the Grand massif area. Alps Accommodation have always been very reliable and easy to contact, and I would have no hesitation booking with them in the future.

McGhie Family, Chalet Chamoissiere, April 2022

The house is as described and as we expected. A pleasant summer stay! The spa is a very welcome addition to the house after a walk in the mountains. The welcome gift is a nice touch. As a bonus, we are now leaving as darts champions!

Pelloux Family, Chalet Chamoissiere, August 2021

Very nice stay in a great house. Hot tub is amazing.

Laurent, Chalet Chamoissiere, February 2021

HELBERT, Chalet Chamoissiere, February 2021

Brilliant chalet, very welcoming, bright, spacious and elegant. There were 9 of us, including 3 children who found everything great! The children were happy to find a Christmas tree!

CASCARINO, Chalet Chamoissiere, December 2020

The chalet in Samoens combines a world of old world charm, comfort, amenities and space that it is hard to find fault with. The care and thought that has gone in to preparing the chalet for guests is excellent and we all loved our stay there in March 2018. A good chalet isn’t just about how lovely it is though, it’s about location and convenience and here again the holiday exceeded my expectations. The town Center itself, a short stroll from your front door, is pretty and well catered in shops, bars and restaurants, a perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day. I confess, having skied every winter for the last 25 years in ‘on piste resorts’, I was a little sceptical that the chalet in Samoens may have been too remote from the slopes but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The telecabine to the pistes is only a 10 minute walk away or, if you’re lazy like me, a two minute drive to the large, free, car park. I can’t overstate how convenient it was for accessing the slopes and exploring the Grand Massif. If I’m honest I found the location so convenient it’s made me rethink what I look for when booking a ski holiday. A lovely chalet and an ideal location, you can’t ask for much more. Highly recommended.

McGeachin's, Chalet Chamoissiere, March 2018

This chalet is perfect for a large group, the snug is great for the kids. As we skied in March, we were able to sit outside in the garden on a sunny evening. We used the bus to get home from the ski lift as the smaller children were tired. The ski area was great and we all loved our week here. The chalet was perfect for three families and we really enjoyed our stay!

Gunney family, Chalet Chamoissiere, March/April 2016

Amazing holiday, amazing place, hot tub amazing, everything AMAZING.

Caldwells, Chalet Chamoissiere, January 2016.

The chalet was perfect. Kitchen and sitting/dining area well designed and the kitchen was very well equipped. The staff were extremely helpful.

Edmunds , Chalet Chamoissiere, March 2015.

A huge thanks to the Alps Accommodation team, especially Barbs who was so helpful throughout our stay. The highlights for us were undoubtedly the excellent and prompt service from all of you at Alps Accommodation. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, the sign of a company that takes customer service seriously.  The welcome hamper, prompt message about where to find keys all helped us to settle in quickly. The chalet itself was superb – well equipped and designed kitchen, with two cookers and fridges made meal preparation a pleasure not a chore. Really comfy beds, power showers, and good towels and linens were appreciated, and the Molton Brown toiletries were a nice touch.  We loved the table tennis table which my lads used continually, and the excellent tv, dvd and playstation were well used (although not at the expense of skiing!).  Finally, the fact that you got a Christmas tree put up, and provided the fabulous hot tub which we all used daily gave us as my sister-in-law put it 'undoubtedly the best Christmas I’ve ever had’.  The village and chalet itself provided a brilliant holiday. Thanks again, and we look forward to holidaying again with you soon.

Greedfields, Chalet Chamoissere, December 2014.

Chalet Chamoissiere was a lovely stand alone chalet, very comfortable beds. Suberb bathrooms and plentiful hot water. The living space was a pleasure and the downstairs playroom was an extra bonus. We used Mountain Kitchen during our stay as a full catering service and cannot fault Petra who cooked to a very high standard and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a superb holiday. Thank you

Marlow, Chalet Chamoissiere, April 2014.

It is so kind of you to take all these steps to help us get our forgotten items back to us. We enjoyed the stay in Chamoissiere, the chalet was perfectly equipped and on a convenient location and Alps Accomodation provided us with exellent service.

About the Owners

Chalet Chamoissiere is owned by brothers, Tim and Chris Townsend, who bought the chalet in Samoens for that combination of a real French village that is alive in the summer and offers great skiing potential. We both love the village, the range of skiing and the whole valley in all the seasons, from alpine walks in the summer with stunning views of Mount Blanc; cycling to the Lac Bleu in Morillon or the Col de Joux Plane if you fancy a challenge; easy skiing in the trees of Les Carroz or the bowl above Flaine; to supping a relaxing drink in the Samoens square. We hope others enjoy it as much as we and our families do.
