Convivial but independent living all rolled into one!

Renovated for comfort and functionality but retaining its classic charm, the chalet combines rustic wood, highest quality linen and soft furnishings, and local décor to give a contemporary alpine feel. Luxurious extras include two warming log burners, granite work surface, under floor heating, impressive games room with pool table, home cinema, several comfortable sofas and large 152cm LCD TV with Blu-ray player and Xbox 360. Wi-Fi and satellite TV is also available and music buffs will love the vintage record player.

Surrounded by open farmland, Chalet Balthazar-Jeroboam sits in the sought-after hamlet of Les Vallons, a mere 9-minute flat walk from the centre of Samoëns. A 5-minute walk will take you to the closest ski bus stop, providing free and regular services to the Grand Massif Express gondola and vast ski domain.

Enter Chalet Balthazar-Jeroboam through one of two spacious cloakrooms, both offering ample storage for outdoor coats and footwear. The front entrance leads into an open plan kitchen, dining and living area, which overlooks some of the garden, a lovely space for a BBQ in the warmer months. The chalet’s side entrance flows into the second and larger open plan dining, kitchen and living area. Here, a vast convivial space awaits, its sunny south-facing outlook providing an uplifting feel and 270-degree views through large glass doors and windows of the surrounding farmland and mountains beyond. Step out onto the rear terrace and breathe it in, or enjoy the very same views from the hot tub – one of two! A covered walkway at the front of the house leads to the second hot tub. Additional outdoor furniture is also provided for the rear terrace, allowing for al fresco dining in the warmer months.

In the main dining area, a contemporary suspended light hangs above the solid wood table and stylishly modern chairs. When the tables from both chalets are combined they offer ample seating for up to 18 guests, while the adjacent wine rack ensures the next bottle is never far away! The chalet’s two fully equipped kitchens flow almost seamlessly one to the next via a central internal door. A 5-ring gas hob and range cooker, and 4-ring ceramic hob are at your disposal, as well as additional full-size electric fan oven, American-style and standard-size fridge/freezers, 2x microwaves, 2x dishwashers and luxury coffee machines. There is of course ample storage and workspace, not to mention all the kitchenware and utensils you could possibly need.

In the first of three separate living/lounge areas, a comfortable sofa offers a space to rest weary legs in front of the cosy log fire, which takes centre stage in this room. Another two deep, comfortable leather sofas await in the lounge next-door. Here you can relax in front of the large TV with satellite receiver, or read one of the many books provided.  A wonderful extra is the record player complete with vintage record collection – a hit with music lovers!

A major highlight of Chalet Balthazar-Jeroboam would have to be its vast lower level. This third living area comprises games room and home cinema, and is a wonderful space for all to enjoy. At one end of the room is the pool table while at the other is an enormous and very comfortable corner sofa, which provides a luxurious vantage point to enjoy the 152cm LCD TV with Blu-ray player, surround sound speakers and Xbox 360 games console. This sofa can also be converted into a double bed.  Also located in the lower ground floor is a combination washer/dryer. A second washing machine and separate dryer is located on the upper level next-door. Free Wi-Fi is of course available throughout the entire property.

Chalet Balthazar-Jeroboam boasts 8/9 bright and spacious bedrooms. Each room features only the highest quality linen and soft furnishings, with local décor and clever splashes of vibrant colour adding individual character. Thoughtfully designed, four of these bedrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, which generate a bright and uplifting atmosphere, while also offering fabulous views.  Black out electric shutters ensure a secure and good night’s sleep can be enjoyed at all times.

Bedroom 1 is an impressive queen room with ensuite. Offering views over vast farmland toward towering snowy peaks, this room has a calming feel. The soft weaved bed throw and carved wooden picture are a lovely touch.  The ensuite bathroom comprises shower, vanity unit with sink, and WC. A wardrobe and chest of drawers provide good storage.

Bedroom 2 is a chic and spacious queen bedroom, also with the luxury of an ensuite bathroom. This west-facing room provides wonderful views from your comfortable bed. There is a large chest of drawers and hanging space. In the ensuite bathroom, guests will find a shower, vanity unit with sink, and WC.

Bedroom 3 is a very spacious queen bedroom, beautifully decorated with luxurious throws, large cosy cushions, and an intricate tapestry stool. The ensuite bathroom offers a shower, vanity unit with sink, and WC. Ample storage space is available in the wardrobe and intricately carved chest of drawers.

Bedroom 4 is a bright and fresh twin bedroom, again with great views. This room has the flexibility to be configured as a king bedroom on prior request.  Its ensuite bathroom features a bath with integrated shower, vanity unit with sink, and WC, while shelving offers good storage.

Bedroom 5 is a cosy ensuite twin located at the southern end of the chalet. It provides private access to the gardens through a sliding glass door and wonderful views to a spectacular waterfall. A built-in unit provides ample storage, while the bathroom features a shower and vanity unit with built-in sink. A WC is adjacent. This bedroom can be arranged as a queen on prior request.

Moving to the upper level, Bedroom 6 is a spacious queen room. Fresh and brightly coloured furnishings add to the already attractive space, and a chest of drawers and hanging rail provide storage. A Velux window positioned above the bed comes complete with a remote-controlled blind.

Bedroom 7, another large bedroom, features a luxurious queen-sized bed dressed with soft colours. The bed is positioned opposite a south facing window offering fabulous alpine views. A beautiful rustic wooden chest of drawers and additional built-in hanging space provide excellent storage options.

Bedroom 8 is a light and spacious queen bedroom with a south-facing aspect that benefits from more wonderful views. Storage is provided by a built-in unit and a unique wooden chest of drawers.

Bedrooms 6, 7 and 8 share two bathrooms located on the same upper floor. The main family bathroom features a bath with integrated shower, and contemporary vanity unit with sink and mirrored cabinet. This bathroom is also fitted with a washing machine and separate dryer. The second bathroom, with modern marble effect tiles, comprises a large shower, and vanity unit with integrated sink. A separate WC is located across the hallway.

Bedroom 9, the ‘snug’, makes use of the lower living area’s double sofa bed, and provides flexible sleeping arrangements in this additional spacious and comfortable room.

Chalet Balthazar-Jeroboam is surrounded by flat lawned gardens, and benefits from day-long sunshine due to its fabulous location on the wide valley floor. The chalet gardens provide a wonderful place to play or relax at any time of year, and offer glorious alpine scenery from all aspects. Take in the views of spectacular waterfalls and the towering alpine peaks and ridges with a glass of wine in hand, or sit back on either of your sunny terraces and enjoy a BBQ dinner. A large picnic table and additional outdoor table and chairs are provided for your convenience.

The chalet boasts two impressive hot tubs, perfect after a long day in the mountains. A covered walkway leads to the hot tub situated to the front of the house, with the second tub located on the rear terrace.

Ski storage is provided in a lockable cupboard.  There is also the added benefit of a secure barn, large enough to store bikes and all outdoor equipment. A private driveway provides off street parking for 4 cars.

Chalet Balthazar-Jeroboam enjoys a most idyllic setting, surrounded by open farmland and dramatic views at the edge of Samoëns. A scenic flat walk of around 9-minutes takes you to the very centre of Samoëns, a picturesque village with countless bars, cafes, restaurants, boutique shops, and an excellent weekly market not to be missed!

A ski bus stop is located a mere 5-minute walk from the chalet and offers a free and regular service to the Grand Massif Express gondola in Samoëns, providing an efficient link to the vast Grand Massif network. Alternatively, free parking is available in the large carpark at the same gondola.

In the spring and summer months, some of the best walking trails lead directly from the chalet, including to the famous Le Criou peak. For a more relaxed time, why not stroll through the sleepy hamlet of Les Vallons, or join the gentle riverside trails between Samoens and Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval, enjoyed equally on foot or by bike.
