Chalet Le Gerbera is a delightful 3 bedroom chalet, sleeping 4/5, which has been recently refreshed and updated to provide a spacious 70m2 of living space spread over two floors. Nestled in the peaceful, unspoilt hamlet of La Rivere Enverse and surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Haute Savoie, the chalet offers a true Alpine experience.
This charming chalet offers traditional wooden architecture combined with modern conveniences including a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living area with log fire and LCD smart TV, and a bathroom with rain shower.
The chalet is located just 5 minutes drive from the ski gondola in Morillon, offering great links into the impressive Grand Massif piste network. Morillon also provides a great range of local amenities, including restaurants, cafes, bars, bakery, local market, ice rink and cross country skiing pistes. Several excellent marked walking and biking trails lead directly from the chalet providing an easy way to explore the surrounding forests, hamlets and mountains.
Chalet Le Gerbera is surrounded by a large 1400m2 private garden peppered with fruit trees and offering stunning views, ideal for family fun at any time of the year. A sunny balcony, equipped with table and chairs, offers stunning Alpine views including the iconic Le Criou peak above Samoens. A BBQ, badminton set, frisbee, and football are all provided.
Private parking is provided by an off street driveway, while ski and equipment storage is available in a locked garage.
This property is privately owned and has been carefully selected to be in Alps Accommodation’s premier portfolio. It has a Sunday changeover day, however flexible arrival day, length of stay, and weekend breaks are available. Contact us for more information.
Description
Chalet Le Gerbera boasts a comfortable living area perfect for relaxing after a fun day in the mountains. Curl up on the deep sofa, or the comfortable arm chair, in front of a roaring log fire and enjoy a well deserved glass of wine. Entertainment is provided by an LCD Smart TV with satellite receiver and NetFlix, Wii games console & games, free Wi-Fi, and a great selection of family games and books.
The fully equipped kitchen boasts a full size electric fan oven, 4 ring hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a great selection of cook books is provided, including all the favourite local dishes!
The dining area boasts a large wood dining table which can comfortably seat up to 6 people, and is positioned below an attractive suspended light. It also features a beautiful french dresser and drinks cabinet while great views over the garden can be enjoyed from two large windows overlooking the garden. A raclette machine is provided for cheese lovers!
On the second level, guests will find a quiet study area with desk space and reclaimed wood bookcase.
A washing machine and tumble dryer are available in the garage.
The owners of the chalet live in an independent studio apartment situated on the ground floor of the chalet. They are on hand should you have any questions or problems and have lived in the area for 13 years, so feel free to pick their brains for local skiing/hiking/biking tips!
Bedrooms
Chalet Le Gerbera offers 3 comfortable and thoughtfully furnished bedrooms spread over two levels.
Bedroom 1 is a light and spacious double bedroom located on the lower floor of the chalet. Light floods into the room through a large south facing window which overlooks the garden. Good storage is provided in a large wooden wardrobe.
Bedroom 2, located on the second level of the chalet, offers an extra long (140x200cm) double bed with two east facing windows offering fantastic views over the valley. A built in wardrobe offers ample storage space.
Bedroom 3 is a single bedroom with built in wardrobe and cupboards. For flexible sleeping arrangements, a pull out bed is available in this room on request.
A recently renovated bathroom is located on the lower level of the chalet, boasting a rain shower, sink, towel radiator and WC. A separate WC with sink can be found on the upper level.
Exterior
A large private garden of around 1400m2 surrounds all four sides of the chalet providing a great place to relax and play. Leading off from the living area, a sunny 10m2 balcony, with table and chairs for 6, offers stunning views over the Haute Giffre valley towards jaggy peaks and ridges, offering stunning sunset views. In the summer there is a vegetable garden maintained by the owners, you may even get some freshly picked produce!
For summer guests there is a BBQ as well as a full badminton set.
A private drive provides off street parking for 2/3 cars, while ski/bike storage is available in a locked garage, where there is also a washing machine and separate dryer.
Bike washing facilities are available.

Location
Chalet Le Gerbera is located in a peaceful hamlet of La Riviere Enverse, consisting of a handful of quaint Savoyard chalets and farm buildings. A short drive of 5 minutes will take you to the ski gondola in Morillon, and with free parking opposite the gondola, it offers a fast and efficient link into the vast Grand Massif network. Morillon also offers a great selection of restaurants, cafes, bars, bakery, supermarket, and excellent weekly market.
An excellent network of walking trails and 4x4 tracks surround the chalet, perfect for gentle strolls through snowy forests. In the warm summer months, these same trails are perfect for exploring by mountain bike. Surrounded by local wildlife it's common to spot wild boar, deer, and eagles amongst many others.
A car is required for this property.

Can only recommend! Quiet location, all exactly as displayed on photos. We enjoyed the fireplace every single day. For New Year the chalet was even decorated and had a Christmas tree. It was a real pleasure!

Our family of four greatly enjoyed the stay at the chalet over the winter holidays. It is cozy and roomy, and has an amazing view of the alpine mountainside. We loved having the fireplace and used it everyday to keep warm and enjoy the winter atmosphere. We cooked almost every day and the kitchen provided all the needed utensils, down to an adorable cookie tin for when we made Christmas cookies. The bedrooms were very cosy, the beds were comfortable and the decor was nice and festive. There is a small library available on the second floor with multiple books for all tastes. We appreciated having streaming services available on the tv to enjoy holiday movies together. Walking in the area is great and provides nice views, there are a couple of nice villages in the area where open markets are organized every week and you can buy local cheese, fruit, vegetables and cured meats. The hosts are great and respect the guests’ privacy. We did not interact much due to social distancing recommendations. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Many thanks to Paul and Hayley for welcoming us to this chalet. Everything was perfect: the warm atmosphere, the glowing fireplace and the well-equipped kitchen (we love to make small dishes and nothing was missing !!!) ... the dog from the neighbors who inevitably came offer us his ball or stick. It’s the perfect place to pamper yourself after a day enjoying the outdoors. We came specially to take a tour of Sixt and discover the Cirque ... we were amazed by the fantastic views. All that to say that we will try to come back to explore more of this magnificent piece of paradise.

We've had a great week at Le Gerbera! Great recommendations for hikes in the chalet's guest book. We also did Grand Balcon du Sud from Chamonix on Paul's recommendation - great views of Mont Blanc and the cable car does most of the climbing for you! We treated ourselves on the last night to a meal at Le Monde a L'Envers - really tasty, and great if you want a break from all the cheese! Thanks for a great stay!

A great stay at Chalet le Gerbera - A beautiful chalet with a perfect location for all of the activites this area has to offer. We did some lovely hikes over our stay - Refuge de Salles, Le Cirque-du-fer-a-cheval, and even just walking along the river to Samoens is beautiful. All in all, a great trip and I look forward to my next break at Le Gerbera!

Beautiful location, so tranquil and views were wonderful. Chalet le Gerbera was fantastic and really well equipped. Probably the cleanest place we have ever stayed too. Water was always hot, and towels very fluffy. Paul and Hayley were great hosts, helping with whatever we needed. We only stayed for 4 days but wish it was longer. We were 3 adults and 2 little children.

A truly beautiful chalet. It made our holiday and we all loved it. The fire was wonderful and the beds deliciously comfortable. The chalet is light and full of special little touches that made me wish we were able to spend more time there (books, the Wii, films, Morton Brown toiletries). It is really cosy. Paul and Hayley were very responsive and available to help when needed with good advice and tips/local knowledge which was so useful. We were right in the heart of things in many ways, so close to Samoens and Morillon, though could equally escape back to our tranquil retreat after a long day on skis. It felt like real France too. Stunning views. Just lovely.
