Alps Accommodation are based in the resorts of Samoens and Morillon in the Grand Massif, French Alps. As a leading luxury and premier accommodation provider, with a portfolio of 25 chalets and apartments, we are looking for talent to join our existing team for this coming winter and possible further seasons. Within all positions you will be a fundamental part of our successful development, therefore we are looking for people with drive and energy to really contribute to the team and in return get the most out of mountain life.
Chalet Managers/Couple - Summer 2013 and Winter 2014: Based at our largest chalet in Samoens, made up of 3 units and sleeping up to 26 people, this role is extremely varied and entails all elements of chalet management including cleaning, maintenance and providing an excellent service to the guests that stay with us. The successful candidates must have a driving license, tons of previous customer focused experience and a highly flexible approach to their work. Chalet Moccand is offered as a self catered unit, with the occasional catered booking in summer. The roles may also involve assisting within other chalets and apartments across Samoens and Morillon. The roles involve: • Full responsibility for all guests staying in Chalet and Apartment Moccand and The Mazot, sleeping 26 in total. • Creating a welcoming, relaxed and friendly holiday environment for guests at all times. • Responsibility for the full weekend changeover of Chalet Moccand units, to include cleaning bathrooms, making beds and cleaning windows and communal areas. Supervision of 1-2 other staff often required. • Full management of swim spa. Daily maintenance duties and running of the properties, from fixing door handles to clearing snow in winter or gardening in summer. • Laundering and ironing linens for changeover days. • 24/7 contact for guests arriving and during their stay. • Assist with the changeover of other chalets and apartments in resort when required. You should be happy getting your hands dirty as cleaning is a large part of a Chalet Managers role. It is essential that you are highly presentable and articulate. Flexibility, a positive attitude and the desire to go the extra mile are a must at all times. A conversational level of French would be an advantage as we greet many French guests. Also basic maintenance experience is required for one member of the couple.
Property Assistants - Winter 2014: The positions involve working within a team to ensure the timely changeover of chalets and apartments across the resort. In addition the position involves ironing and preparing linen and welcome packs for new arrivals. Applicants must be happy with a position that involves lots of cleaning and must be individuals who take great pride in their work. A driving license is desirable for these positions. The roles involve: • Full changeover of chalets and apartments on changeover day to ensure they are ready for the guests arrival and presented immaculately to Alps Accommodations high standards. • Working alongside other team members, the role involves cleaning of all areas including bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, windows and professionally making beds. • Reporting directly to the Managers and working with them to ensure deadlines are met, standards remain high and chalets are ready for exceed our arriving guests expectations. • Assisting the Resort Managers with basic maintenance duties and resort jobs, such as stacking logs and clearing snow and servicing hot tubs.
• Presenting welcome baskets in the accommodation on changeover days.
• Ironing of linens each week on a shift basis and preparing them for the coming changeovers. • Offering childminding for our guests in resort if required. • Working within the wider Alps Accommodation team, providing support whenever required to your fellow team members. • Assisting with meeting guests on arrival day and checking them out of your chalets at departure, if required by the resort manager.
Applicants should be hard working and highly motivated individuals, with lots of drive and initiative. A natural team player and able to work alongside all different ages and nationalities. A positive, professional and flexible approach is to be displayed at all times with peers and management. You will have experience within the service industry and delivering effectively in a team, preferably in role where cleaning has been involved. You should not be afraid of getting your hands dirty and take great pride in delivering high standards at all times.
The above positions involve 2 sharing a studio apartment in resort, so is ideal for a couple or close sets of friends, as it is important you can live together happily for the season.
Within all our positions you are rewarded with 2 days off per week, accommodation, ski/summer pass, ski/board hire in winter and a competitive weekly wage. Long hours will be expected on your working days as well as unsociable hours, but we will ensure as much time on the mountain as possible!
