Each year Samoëns welcomes its Christmas Village which runs throughout the Christmas and New Year holiday period. Hugely popular with locals and visitors, it occupies a large part of the village with nativity scene, Santa's chalet, music, activities, food, drink, fire shows and much more every single day.
Enjoy a wonderful atmosphere and it's perfect for apres-ski with a twist.
In addition, there is a great selection of scheduled events throughout this period.
10 December:
- The Christmas CORRIDA, a fancy dress foot race through the village centre with 2 routes - 3km (for children aged 12 to 16) and 10km (for 16+ years old).
- The race is followed by a competition for the worst Christmas jumper.
16 & 17 December:
- A highline and aerial fabric show above the village square.
- Music concert - Mozart's REQUIEM at Samoëns Church with over 120 soloists and 40 musicians.
23 December:
- A Tombola for shopkeepers in the Halle de la Grenette with lots of prizes to be won. Tickets can be collected from participating retailers when you make your purchases and placed in the ballot box at the Tourist Office.
24 December:
- Santa's Parade - a highlight for young children, Santa passes through the village centre on his sleigh accompanied by Mother Christmas and her elves.
