Morillon Village and Morillon 1100 Les Esserts

Morillon lies in the picturesque Giffre Valley in the Haute Savoie region of the Northern French Alps. Only 50 minutes drive from Geneva airport and 15 minutes from the nearest motorway junction, Morillon is one of the most easily accessed resorts in the Alps. Based in the heart of the Grand Massif ski area, there are over 265km of pistes over  five resorts... Morillon, Samoens, Les Carroz, Flaine and Sixt.

Morillon is home of the Olympic Downhill Gold Medalist Antoine Dénériaz. The telecabine for skiers and non skiers, is located in the heart of the village and takes you to 1100 metres altitude in only a few minutes, where you can access pistes of all varieties and to suit all levels of skier and snowboarder. One of the most beautiful pistes in the Grand Massif, The Marvel... which is lined by trees, can be found in Morillon.  Much of the season you can ski from 1100 down to the village centre positioned at 800m.  The Creche is located at Morillon 1100 and booking details are in the link: http://www.ot-morillon.fr/children/nursery.php

The village itself it steeped in history and is a real working village unspoilt by tourism.  It has its very own weekly market on Wedesdays, as well as numerous bars and restaurants serving a variety of tasty local cuisine. There is a quaint church, sports shops which you can hire equipment from, tourist information centre, cash point, medical centre, activity operators, tennis courts, football pitch, an ice rink, supermarket and everything else you would expect from a well equipped mountain resort.  Just 5 minutes drive away is Samoens village and all it has to offer.

Morillon 1100, also called Morillon Les Esserts, is a mountain side resort offering a traffic free centre and total convenience to its visitors.  It is very popular with families due to its excellent creche.  A supermarket, bakery, sports shops, restaurants and bars are all within a few minutes walk of each other. For nightlife you can relax in the many local restaurants and most notably, the Madison pub is a great place to spend an evening listening to live music and enjoying the good food and playing pool.  Whilst out on the mountain, there are lots of mountain restaurants to choose from, in some spectacular locations, the igloo restaurant on the piste, is one of the best in the Grand Massif.  When staying in Morillon Les Esserts, you are able to travel down to Morillon village during the daytime, to benefit from the facilities and attractions, when not on the ski slopes.

In summer there is an adventure park where you can get closer to nature by swinging through the trees on zip lines, wires and steps suspended high off the ground. Next to the adventure park is the stunning Lac Bleu, this lake is safe to swim in, has its own sandy beach and is life gaurded in the summer. Morillon also has some fantastic purpose built mountain biking trails which are lift assisted in July and August.

The stunning scenery, fresh mountain air, abundance of wildlife, exhilarating activities and quaint village charm, make Morillon a truly fantastic holiday destination at any time of the year.
