La Grange 1767 is a boutique alpine barn, carefully designed to mix the beautiful original style of this ancient building with modern comfort and style. Spread over 60m2 (6m2 less than 1.8m high) and with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, La Grange is a cool and contemporary newly renovated property. Situated in a quiet, idyllic and elevated position in Verchaix, close to the resorts Samoens and Morillon in the Grand Massif. The owners have ensured every piece of this beautiful old wooden frame have remained, plus used other traditional materials such as the wooden shingle roof, and up cycling the exterior wooden panels to further enhance the interior. Originally built in 1767 as a barn for making wine, cider and eau de vie, the barn has been renovated to preserve the amazing charm of the old building and combine it with a modern style, using shades of grey, black and white. The views are truly fabulous through the extensive use of large widows and from the terraces, giving you a really unique independent mountain retreat sleeping 4/5 guests in designer comfort. For January bookings, free lifts to and from Morillon gondola are available, provided by the owner.

This property is privately owned and has been carefully selected to be in Alps Accommodation’s premier portfolio. It has a Saturday changeover day, however in low season and for last minute bookings, flexible arrival days and length of stays may be available. For bookings of just 2 people, there could also be discounts available during non peak times. Contact us for more information.



La Grange has been designed to be an “upside down” property to benefit from the uninterrupted views from the living area. As you enter La Grange on the ground floor, the two bedrooms are situated at the front of the barn with the bathroom adjacent on the ground floor. A large under stairs storage cupboard is provided for ski wear and your outdoor equipment.

The hand built wooden stairs lead you up to the bright open plan living area. First is the a fully equipped bijou kitchen, containing full size integral dishwasher, fridge freezer, electric oven, Nespresso coffee machine and 2 ring induction hob. The spacious 6 place dining table, has modern style chairs in 4 colours, adding to the contemporary and fresh charm of the property. Huge floor to ceiling glass windows at the front of the building flood the room with light and boast truly magnificent views across the Grand Massif ski domain. With beautiful dark oak flooring and a large comfy sofa to relax, sit back and look at the mountains, read a book by the wood burner on those cosy winter nights in, or watch the sunset through the long glass panel window on the west side of the living area.  Wi-Fi is also provided as well as an Ultra 4K TV with Netflix.

La Grange is located in the grounds of the farmhouse Chalet Isabella, with on site assistance offered for all aspects of your stay. For an additional price extra services such as bread deliveries, daily room clean and catering can be provided. We can also arrange ski equipment to be delivered and ski passes collected for you.

Both of the bedrooms are in a south facing position, with plenty of light flooding in and truly wonderful mountain views. They are equal in size with the original exposed beamed ceilings and ancient wooden panelled walls, with light oak oiled floors. The first of the bedrooms offers a large king size bed and the second is a double/triple bedroom. 

The owners have chosen high quality, Egyptian cotton sheets and goose down duvets, to ensure a cosy night sleep in your mountain retreat. Luxurious under floor heating is provided in each room with a separate thermostat to be individually controlled.

A modern family bathroom is located outside the 2 bedrooms. This boasts a large 100 cm shower, a vanity unit, a heated towel rail and WC. Quality fluffy towels are provided, adding to the overall comfort of your stay.



La Grange is located in gardens, with a gravel and stoned walled area on the south easterly side, offering a wooden cafe table and chairs, plus a built in bench perfect for catching the morning and lunchtime sun and enjoying a BBQ during the summer. A further sunny bench is at the front of the property, with a small grass area offering a perfect southerly aspect and with a fabulous view across to the Grand Massif ski area. There is an off street parking place to the side of the property.

La Grange 1767 is situated in the idyllic and peaceful hamlet of Le Magnin, Verchaix. It boasts an elevated position above the valley floor with amazing south facing views across the valley and down over to Samoëns. The panoramic views of the Criou, Cathédrale and Buet mountains, and even on to Mont Blanc in the distance can be enjoyed during all seasons of the year. 

La Grange 1767 offers the perfect base for hikers and bikers during spring, summer and autumn, with marked trials and mountain bike tracks starting right outside the front door.

The village of Verchaix-en-haut was originally a wine growing area because of it's warm sunny slopes. Five minutes’ drive take you down to the nearest bakery, restaurant and bar, plus a few minutes further is the Morillon and Samoens ski and summer lifts.

The very beautiful and popular Lac Bleu at Morillon is also a 5 minutes drive, with a lake side restaurant, lifeguarded beach, tennis courts, horse riding, airbag jumping, children's play areas and zip lines and wires through the trees for all ages.

In Samoëns the main Grand Massif Express lift operates all winter long, and also throughout July and August. The Morillon telecabine operates during winter, in summer chairs lifts operate from Morilllon 1100 to access the higher alpine pastures. Both villages offer a number of restaurants, bars, and shops, plus tourist offices, a crèche, ice skating rink, bowling alley and a vast array of activities for all the family.
