Ice Skating
There is a 600m2 rink in the centre of Samoens opposite the Tourist Office which is open from the Autumn to April each year. Rates for 2011-2012: Adult entrance: 3.80€, child entrance: 3.20€, evening entrance (8.30 pm entrance) One price: 3.20€, Ice skate rental: 3.60€. Also at the ice rink: ice skating disco, ice hockey matches.

Raquettes, Snowshoeing and Animal Tracking
This is an activity not to be missed. There are guided trips for all levels of fitness, adults and children, and specially prepared tracks, you can also walk under the stars to a meal stop with an organised group. Our local qualified guide Jamie Carr can provide snowshoe walks for all abilities, from half day walks to overnight stops in a refuge. Jamie knows all the best places to see the local wildlife, and there may also be the opportunity to build your own igloo! Avalanche Rescue Introductory Course
Designed for those that like to go off piste now and again. The Tourist Office contains the booking information.

Skidoos (snow mobiles) Organised evening sessions ending with a Fondu at the Restaurant RDV des Skieurs at Samoens 1600 - no experience required €80 for 1 person on the skidoo (no food) €120 for 2 people on the skidoo (no food). €110 for 1 person on the skidoo including dinner €170 for 2 people on the skidoo including dinner. €30 for dinner no skidoo. Luge and tobogganing There are 2 luge/sledging runs at Samoens 1600. On the plateau at the top of the Grand Massif Express there are two new luge runs for children of all ages. From 16m long for the young ones through to 60m for the older children (and Dads!). There is also a Luge run on the col de Joux Plane, great fun for children, teenagers and adults! Accessible by car or via a shuttle service from the village.

Dog sledding Available once a week. Two people per sled (plus one or two children, depending on age). This trial ride lasts for 20 to 30 minutes and depending on snow conditions, takes place in Samoëns or Sixt Fer à Cheval. 37 Euros per person, 18,50 Euros per child aged from 4 to 10 with an adult. Heli-skiing with ZigZag who have many options available, but for example: Heliskiing in Switzerland, on a glacier “Le Combin de Corbasière” 2450m vertical descent, several routes available to suit your levels of ability.

From soft play areas, to water parks with slides, indoor climbing walls for all ages, fitness activities, warm indoor and outdoor pools, shops, lunch - it's all there.  Ideal for sunny, rainy or snowy days!
