Alps Accommodation are based in the ski and summer resort of Samoens in the Grand Massif, French Alps. We are Samoens leading premier accommodation provider, with a portfolio of 25 chalets and apartments.

We are looking for a number of individuals to join our team.

1. Resort Property Manager

Responsible for the management of self catered holiday chalets and apartments within the Alps Accommodation portfolio. Working closely alongside one other Resort Property Manager and Alps Accommodation Directors to successfully manage 12-15 properties and provide a service for the guests staying within them.

 The role involves:

  • Managing and working as part of a team of 4 to 5 staff, made up of permanent and seasonal staff.
  • Ensuring the timely changeover of accommodation when the guests depart, delivering excellent standards at all times.
  • Meeting and greeting of guests at their accommodation, providing keys, information and assistance required for their holiday. Checking out guests at the end of their holiday and gaining feedback and handling any issues within the property.
  • Point of contact for the guests during their stay, resolving any queries they may have and handling basic maintenance issues.
  • Preparation of weekly staff rotas and monitoring of your teams timesheets.
  • Provide hands on cleaning when required to ensure properties are always ready for guest’s arrival, leading by example.
  • Ensuring all linens are prepared and ready for each of your property changeovers.
  • Control of cleaning stocks and welcome hamper items, to include budgetary management.
  • Inventory management across your properties, dealing with any breakages, loss or damage.

Applicants should have excellent organisational skills and previous management or supervisory experience in the service industry. You will be a natural team leader and player and know how to get the best out of people under time pressures, always maintaining exceptional standards. A professional and customer service focussed approach in essential as well as bags of initiative. You will have a driving license and a minimum of conversational French language. Ideally you will be a proficient skier/snowboarder as the role could include ski hosting for your guests.

Initially a 5 month contract with the possibility of a permanent position. You will be rewarded with a competitive salary, 2 days off per week, accommodation, ski pass and ski/board hire.

Applicants must have the right to work in Europe and be available from the beginning of December 2008 to end of April 2009.

 

2. Chalet Assistant

Providing support to the Chalet Manager to ensure the smooth and professional running of Alps Accommodation’s Chalet Moccand, sleeping 10-18 people. The chalet is run on approximately 50% catered and 50% self catered basis, so the job role and hours will vary from one week to the next. In addition the role will require one to two days per week based in other accommodations to assist with busy changeovers. The salary will be based on an average of 40 hours per week.

 The role involves:

  • Delivering excellent customer service to our guests with an ever ready willingness to help.
  • Ensuring the chalet is always presented to Alps Accommodation standards, with full management of this.
  • Responsibility for the changeover of Chalet Moccand on arrival/departure day alongside 1-2 other people, to include making all beds, cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas for this 8 bedroom property.
  • Providing breakfast and clearing away from breakfast on our catered weeks.
  • Daily morning clean of communal areas and guest bedrooms on our catered weeks.
  • Assisting with evening meals, to include preparation, catering, service and clearing away after dinner on our catered weeks.
  • Assist with the changeover of other chalets and apartments when required. 
  • Ironing of linen and organising linen for chalet changeover days. 
  • Offering childminding for our guests if required.
  • Provide support to other team members, particularly during busy periods.

 Applicants should be extremely customer focussed, comfortable and sociable with all types of individuals. You should have a love for food and the ability to take on certain dinner courses and at times all elements of a preparing and serving a four course meal.  You should also be confident in providing cooked breakfasts for large groups. You should be happy getting your hands dirty as cleaning is a primary part of this role. It is essential that you are presentable and articulate and have previous experience within the service industry. Flexibility and positive attitude and the desire to go the extra mile, are a must at all times.

You will be rewarded with a competitive salary, 2 days off per week, accommodation, ski pass, and ski/board hire. Applicants must have the right to work in Europe and be available from the middle of December to middle of April.

 

3. Property Assistants

Working within a close knit team to ensure the timely changeover of Alps Accommodation premier holiday chalets and apartments on the guests arrival days. Hours will vary from one week to the next, but the salary will be based on an average of 40 hours per week. 

The role involves.

  • Full changeover of Chalets and Apartments on changeover day to ensure they are ready for the guests arrival and presented immaculately to Alps Accommodations high standards. This is predominantly at weekends and 1-2 days during the week.  
  •  Working alongside other team members, the role involves cleaning of all areas including bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, windows and professionally making beds.
  • Reporting directly to the Property Manager and working with them to ensure deadlines are met and standards remain high.
  • Presenting welcome baskets and toiletries in the accommodation on changeover days.
  • Ironing of linens each week on a shift basis and preparing them for the coming changeovers.
  • Offering childminding for our guests in resort if required.
  • Working within the wider Alps Accommodation team, providing support whenever required to your fellow team members.

Applicants should be hard working and highly motivated individuals, with lots of drive and initiative. A natural team player and able to work alongside all different ages and nationalities. A positive and professional approach is to be displayed at all times with your peers and management. You will have experience within the service industry and delivering effectively in a team. You should not be afraid of getting your hands dirty and take pride in delivering high standards.

Within all our positions you are rewarded with 2 days off per week, accommodation, ski pass, ski/board hire and a competitive weekly wage. Long hours may be expected on your working days as well as unsociable hours, but we will ensure as much time on the mountain as possible. We do ask for flexibility at all times and we will also offer the same to you in return. You really must have a desire to experience a life in the mountains and all it has to offer you.
