Family Holidays in Samoens

Samoens and the area are fantastic for children of all ages.  In the centre of Samoens is a newly built Kindergarten which accepts children from the age of 3 months to 6 years and is open all year.  In winter, children from 3 years can join the “Piou Piou or Kindergarden at Samoens 1600”. This is a designated fun area created for your child’s first holiday on skis, allowing them to learn the basics in preparation for ski school. Children are also accepted into the standard French ski school ESF in Samoens from 3 1/2 years.  Booking is recommended particularly during February and details can be found on our winter page.   It is also possible for the children to have half a day in the Kindergarten and half a day in Jardin des Neiges, where they will also provide them with lunch.

Children under 5 receive a free lift pass and there are discounts available for older children on our winter page.

For winter and summer activities in Samoens and the area, there’s plenty to keep the family busy. 
In winter there are numerous slopes for sledging, the septi train, an outdoor ice skating rink, horse and cart and entertainments in Samoens square.  We can also organise snow shoeing and animal tracking for the kids, taking kids from 5 years old.
While in the summer there are 2 adventure playgrounds, nature discovery trails, kids club, children’s rafting, a merry go round and a mini train which offers excursions around Samoens. There is also an outdoor swimming pool with slides and a family swimming area at the local lake with lifeguard.

We can organise baby sitting or child minding at your accommodation evenings or day times.

You are able to hire cots and high chairs at all our properties for 15Euros for the week for both.  We do not provide linen for the cot and recommend bringing your own due to hygiene issues with very young children.
