Samoens and the area are fantastic for children of all ages.  In the centre of Samoens is a newly built Kindergarten which accepts children from the age of 3 months to 6 years and is open all year.  In winter, children from 3 years can join the “Jardin des Neiges”. This is a designated fun area created for your child’s first holiday on skis, allowing them to learn the basics in preparation for ski school. Children are also accepted into the standard French ski school ESF in Samoens from 3 1/2 years.  Booking is recommended particularly during February and details can be found on our winter page.   It is also possible for the children to have half a day in the Kindergarten and half a day in Jardin des Neiges, where they will also provide them with lunch.

Children under 5 receive a free lift pass and there are discounts available for older children on our winter page.

For winter and summer activities in Samoens and the area, there’s plenty to keep the family busy. 
In winter there are numerous slopes for sledging, the septi train, an outdoor ice skating rink, horse and cart and entertainments in Samoens square.  We can also organise snow shoeing, animal tracking and Igloo building for the kids, charged at 24 Euros for a half day.   The qualified guide is insured to takes kids on their own from 5 years old.
While in the summer there are 2 adventure playgrounds, nature discovery trails, children’s rafting, a merry go round and a mini train which offers excursions around Samoens. There is also an outdoor swimming pool with slides and a family swimming area at the local lake with lifeguard.

For catered guests in Chalet Moccand, if desired, we are able to offer an early kids tea so that parents can relax during their meal later in the evening.  There are plenty of child friendly restaurants in Samoens and the area and we are able to recommend and pre book these for you. 

We can organise baby sitting at your accommodation for approximately 15 Euros per hour depending on the time and number of children.
