Chalet Le Kiwi Vert is an ecologically renovated, 4 bedroom chalet sleeping 9 in the heart of Samoens village.  Located 100 metres from the tourist office, crèche, ice rink, ski bus stop, restaurants and shops.  The ski lift is approximately 7 minutes walk.  In summer the chalet is 5 minutes walk from the lakes, swimming pool and activity park, offering the perfect base for year round holidays.  It is perfectly situated so that you don't have to use your car the entire stay adding to the 'Econess' of the chalet!

The chalet is named after the wonderful vine which creeps up the chalet front.  It offers luxury throughout, yet has been “Eco” renovated with the environment in mind, using geo thermal heating, solar panels and recycled quality materials.  The property has extras such as a Hot Tub and games room and offers great views, large flat sunny gardens and terraces.

The chalet entrance level provides a light and spacious living area with 3 comfy sofas and an impressive log burner, providing the perfect place to relax after a day of activities.  It comes equipped with flat screen satellite TV, WiFi, DVDs and games.  Leading off the lounge is the kitchen and dining area.  The kitchen is superbly equipped throughout with dishwasher, fridge freezer, coffee machine and microwave.  The stunning red worktop is made from recycled products.  Next to the kitchen area, is the dining area with seating for 9, providing access onto the south facing balcony, equipped also for outside dining.  On entering the chalet, there is a ski and boot room, with warmers.  Plenty of storage and a cloak room with sink and wc.

The upper floor has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.  There is a double room with 4 poster bed and ensuite shower room offering a large walk in shower, wc and sink.  The next bedroom is a triple, with 3 single beds and an ensuite shower room, again with large shower, sink and wc.  Facing the front is a twin/king size bedroom with zip and link beds, an ensuite bathroom with bath and integrated shower and balcony.  There is a further double bedroom with 4 poster bed, ensuite bathroom with roll top bath, and access to the balcony.

The lower floor of the chalet, has a sauna and offers a games room, great for all ages.  Equipped with table football, further TV, Wii, 2 comfy sofas, one of which is a sofa bed.  The games room provides further access to the garden and Hot Tub. There is a utility room with second fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.  Also on this level a further wc and shower. 

The chalet is set in large flat grounds and offers private parking for many cars plus a boules or petanque court plus a badminton set.  A Friday changeover day is preferred at Chalet Le Kiwi Vert, although flexibility may be offered, so please contact us for other arrival days.

How did the owner achieve this Eco Chalet? Heating is provided by a ground source heat pump which extracts heat from the ground and using a compressor delivers warm water to the under floor heating coils. In Chalet Le Kiwi Vert it is even used for the boot warmers. The Ground Source Heating is complemented by Solar Panels on the south facing roof. It was essential to reduce the energy requirement through the use of excellent insulation. Chalet Kiwi was no exception, using Fermecell boarding for all walls and ceilings, a homogeneous material made from 80% recycled gypsum and 20% cellulose fibres derived from recycled papers, mixed with recycled water, with no additives or preservatives. Air extracted from the chalet is passed through a heat exchanger to recover up to 90% of the heat in the winter.  In summer it stops the introduction of hot air into the chalet providing instant air conditioning! A grey water recycling system was installed for sterilising bath water before being reused so significantly reducing water consumption. Where possible the wood used has been either reclaimed or from renewable sources, even the hot tub is made from cedar wood rather than plastic. And a highly efficient Italian wood burner ensures the heat produced doesn’t escape to the atmosphere. And not forgetting the induction hob, low energy lighting, recycled glass kitchen worktop, etc. which all help to make this a truly Eco chalet.
